In this activity, it is planned to go children to the forest according to parents’ ideas by using Google Form
which is send to the parents to learn suitable day. Children go to the forest and children make animals that
live in the forest with dough. They talk about animals. After that, they make tents to protect these animals
from the rain. After the activity, teacher sends Google Form to the parents to assess the activity.
Individual Learning Activities Each child makes an animal by using dough which
teacher gives to them.
Group Learning Activities Children make tents together by using natural
materials which are found in the forest naturally such
as leaves, wood.

Summary
A date is set for the activity to be appropriate for the parents and rainy day. To determine this date, the
teacher sends a Google Form to the parents before the activity.

The teacher tells the children that they will go to the forest where is located on the back of their school in a
rainy day. They all go to the forest. When they go to the forest, teacher finds an animal made of pastry in the
forest. The teacher shows this animal and says to the children, "I found this animal in the forest. He told me he
lost friends and felt very lonely in this forest. Therefore, he wants us to make a friend for him. Let’s help and
make a friend for him!” Then, the teacher distributes the dough for each child as equal as possible. It is
supposed that each child on their own makes an animal that lives in the forest. While each child make a friend
for that animal, the teacher walks around and ask question about the ongoing process. “What do you think?
What kind of animal do you think you are going to make?” These questions will lead to the making animal that
the child wants to do. After all children finish making their own animals as a friend, each child makes a
reflection about their animals. The teacher can ask question to help children make sufficient reflection like
“What are characteristics of your animal? Why did you choose? Where does the animal that you have made
live?” After reflection process, the teacher suddenly pretends to hear a voice. The teacher says that “Have you
heard the sound? What was like? I think the sky is roaring. Do you hear this sound? I think the rain will start.
Now, we have to return to the school because it can rain.” Meanwhile, the animal in the teacher's hand starts
talking. “What are we going to do? We live in the forest and if it rains we will get very wet.” After animal’s
explanation, the teacher turns to the children and says “Children, what can we do for these animals?” Children
and the teacher start to brainstorm about it. It is expected to solve this problem from children so they are
expected to build shelter-style tents that can protect animals from rain. In order to provide collaboration,
children work with the small group. They start to make tents by using leaves, wood founded in from the
forest. After they build tent for those animals, each group make a reflection about their tents. They can
explain its features and the materials they use. Teacher also ask question about these materials about why
they choose. (For example, they can say we chose wood because we want to make this tent strong.) After all
groups make reflection about their work, the assessment part starts
Measurement & Evaluation
Before the activity, teacher sends teacher sends survey by using Google Form in order to understand parents’ ideas
about outdoor activities for reflecting on the process and on their own.
After the activity process, teacher makes an assessment by sending a Google Form to parents for making
connection between the form which is applied before the activity and by asking some questions to children.
These are descriptive questions, affective questions, daily life questions and questions with related objectives
and indicators.

Daily Life Question: What other materials from daily lives can we use in tent construction?

Objectives Question: What did you consider to make the tent strong?

Measurement & Assessment Activities for Teacher asks questions especially affective questions to
Individual Performance the children one by one to assess activity process and
teacher sends forms to the parents to understand children
progress in the activity and the process of the activity.
Measurement & Assessment Activities for Teacher asks questions to the children. These questions
Group Performance are related with activity process, children’s ideas and
feelings. Aim of these questions is understand children
progress and effectiveness of the activity.

Explanation regarding to the implementation of the plan
This activity is planned in the rainy day. If there is no rain in the weather the day, teacher and children go to
the forest and teacher open a rain sound from the technological devices. It is expected to children imagine the
rain and feel it for the activity.
