 CATEGORY DESCRIPTIONS:
     FATHER OF THE YEAR: A man who has gone beyond the call of
fatherhood to make sure his children are provided for financially,
emotionally, physically, mentally, and educationally. He is nothing short
of exceptional, excellent and continues to exceed the boundaries of
being a father.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: First time father conquering the new role in the
parentage of his child. A father who is creating a productive environment
for his children’s future.

THE ONE AWARD: A single non-divorced father who shows a superior

commitment to raising his children.

THE CHOSEN AWARD: A non-biological father, neighborhood dad, foster

and/or adoptive father who has taken on the responsibility to
raise/mentor children.
FATHERLAND AWARD: A married father who is remarkably the commander-
in-chief of his household. This father is also the quintessence of love, joy,
security and a solid foundation in his children's lives.

MOST IMPROVED FATHER: There's always room for improvement. This

father gets the “do over” done in an incredible fashion. His ability to
recognize his shortcomings and turn them into strengths are admirable.

GENERATION F AWARD: The "F" stands for fantastic. This award winner is
a divorced father who has not divorced his responsibilities to his children.
Instead, he is an outstanding father engaged deeply in his children's lives.

PATRIARCH AWARD: Recognition of grandfather or great grandfather who

makes being a legacy figure in fatherhood something to behold.

PADRE AWARD: A spiritual father who has had a transcendent impact as

a leader, teacher, mentor and father figure.
 PRESIDENT'S AWARD: Fatherhood Award Winner Chosen at The
Discretion of The President of The 100 Black Men of San Antonio. The
requirements For this winner could vary from year-to-year.
