Oracle® Balanced Scorecard helps customers design, develop, and deploy custom corporate
performance management solutions. With Balanced Scorecard, managers can better communicate
strategic objectives, align organizational objectives and resources, and proactively monitor key
performance indicators. Custom, graphical scorecards display performance results and let users click
on any indicator to perform more detailed analysis. Users can also navigate to any related function of
the system to take corrective action where necessary. Scorecards can include custom KPI's created in
Balanced Scorecard as well as over 250 pre-built Daily Business Intelligence KPI's.

Balanced Scorecard offers a unique set of web-enabled design, administration, and delivery tools to
deploy organization-wide performance management solutions. Through a browser, Balanced
Scorecard delivers robust dashboards, using colored alarm icons to highlight areas where actual
performance is missing targets. Users can drill into underperforming areas using drill-down reports
and cause-and-effect navigation to help troubleshoot problems and quickly find root causes.

Build a Solution Tailored to your Needs
Differences between industries and business models create unique performance measurement
needs. Flexible design tools allow you to create a performance measurement and management
solution tailored to the needs of your organization and linked with your strategic plans.

Users can create scorecards or dashboards displaying the key strategic objectives and key
performance indicators for their business. Custom drill-down reports can be designed to support
multi-dimensional drill-down analysis on key performance indicators.

Monitor Target Achievement and Identify Root Causes of Variances

Users can compare current performance against various benchmarks such as industry peers,
internal plans or budgets, as well as historical data to assess current performance. Additionally,
users can easily spot trends and compare performance along different dimensions such as
business unit, product, geography, or sales channel.

Deploy a Secure Solution

The design and administration tools let you control the level of detail at which scorecards and
reports are delivered. Access is granted through the Oracle Applications security model which
allows users to view specific scorecards, reports, and data restricted to their role. This solution
avoids costly design and data loading duplication without compromising data security requirements
across the organization.

Perform Rapid, Iterative Implementations

The design tool follows intuitive flows making it possible for business users to design scorecards
and reports with very little training and little or no technical background. In addition, the system
allows multiple users to develop scorecards and reports concurrently, supporting enterprise-wide
deployment. Finally, the design and administration tools enable phased deployments, making it
possible to bring value to users early in the overall implementation and iteratively expand the
system over time to support changing business needs.

Personalize the Delivery
Balanced Scorecard is fully integrated with Oracle Portal. Users can build personalized Portal
pages including Balanced Scorecard portlets that contain lists of key performance indicators,
graphs, and dashboards relevant to their personal needs.

Enhance Knowledge Sharing and Strategic Feedback

Balanced Scorecard helps you promote knowledge sharing by allowing employees to collaborate on
root cause analysis and corrective action plans. The application captures this feedback in a
knowledge repository and supports organizational learning.

Leverage Data from Oracle or non-Oracle Sources

Balanced Scorecard enables you to collect data from multiple sources, including Oracle, Excel
spreadsheets, 3rd party applications, and data warehouses. Data can be loaded on-demand or
scheduled to be loaded periodically. Oracle also provides tools such as Oracle Warehouse Builder
that can streamline the process of extracting data from disparate sources.

Oracle Daily Business Intelligence Integration and Extensibility

Balanced Scorecard is integrated with Oracle Daily Business Intelligence, which enables users to
include over 250 pre-built DBI KPIs on custom dashboards and drill-down reports. The Daily
Business Intelligence KPIs are already mapped to the E-Business Suite tables, saving the time
required to map and load data. Also, users can link from custom scorecards to Daily Business
Intelligence overview pages and reports letting them drill from a high level strategic view to a more
granular or operational view. Finally, Balanced Scorecard can be used to extend and supplement
pre-built Daily Business Intelligence reporting by enabling customers to design custom KPIs,
dashboards and drill-down reports and automatically generate the supporting database tables and
summaries.
