The Nazi Party and Challenges to Governments LEQ

After World War I, Germany was left with no territory, no military, and barely any

money. The Treaty of Versailles took everything away from Germany in an attempt to stop

another world war from happening again. However, during the Great Depression, that not only

greatly affected the economy of America, but also Europe, including Germany and France,

fascist governments began to rise. Hitler rose to power when everyone else was weak and gained

popularity by promising Germany a bright future and started the infamous Nazi party. The Nazi

party in Germany led to World War II, the Holocaust, and the rise of totalitarianism government

under the role of Hitler in the period 1900-2001.

When Hitler rose to power, he promised his fellow Germans that he would get back what

their country lost in the Treaty of Versailles. He started threatening countries and conquering

countries around Germany to gain more power. In an attempt to stop Germany from gaining

power and starting another war, Churchill, the prime minister of Britain began to appease

Germany and the Nazi party by giving them land. However, just as predicted by Chamberlin, a

military officer at the time, Hitler and the Nazis abused the appeasement given to them and took

advantage of it and gained more power by every piece of land given to them. Hitler soon became

very greedy with his power and attacked Russia against Hitler and Stalin’s Non- Aggression

Pact. So, began World War II. Allies got pulled into the war, with Russia, America, and France

fighting against Italy and Austria-Hungary. Originally America was not included in the war, but
after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, they joined against the Japanese and Germany. Millions of

men were lost in the battles, and even civilians were severely wounded and dead because of the

countless air raids and blitzkrieg fighting by the German Nazis.

Meanwhile in Germany, while the war is going on, Hitler is doing an even more

despicable act behind the backs of all the countries. Mercilessly he killed millions of Jews, which

he believed were the reason for World War I and the Treaty of Versailles. He dreamed of having

a perfect Aryan race in Germany, blonde hair and blue eyes, but to do that he had to get rid of

everyone else. Gypsies, elders, cripples, the sick, homosexuals, and Jews were among the list of

the many murdered people on the Holocaust. He thought of terrible ways to quickly killing as

many people as he could with firing squads, gas chambers, starvation, or gas chambers. Jews

everywhere had to flee in an attempt to escape the grasp of the Nazis vicious military. When

other countries found out was occurring in Germany, American and French troops immediately

went in and stopped the Nazis from killing and rescued as many people as they could. The

Holocaust caused people to realize that something like the Holocaust could never happen again

and created a sense of nationalism within the world.

Finally, the rise of the Nazi party resulted in the rise of dictatorships in Germany ruled by

Hitler. Hitler is responsible for many global military conflicts. World War II, the Holocaust, the

Nazi Plunder of art in Europe, and the breaking of the Treaty of Versailles, among many other

treaties that caused the second global military conflict. The Nazi power killed many innocent

people under the rule of Hitler due to his strong speeches and strength as a dictator. Dictatorships

can also be seen in Russia around the same time as Hitler was in power. Stalin would purge his

citizens and murdered innocent people or anyone that got in his way. Lastly, the Nazi Plunder

under the rule of Hitler caused much global military conflict. Hitler plundered nearly 2 million
pieces of art from Europe and hid it away. This caused new military groups to form like the

MFAA and the Monuments Men in an attempt to stop his plunder from becoming a success.

Hitler created the Nazi party when everyone else was weak, unexpectant, and unprepared

for another war. The rise of the Nazis created multiple military problems and caused one of the

biggest massacres and genocides in history. The party affected everyone globally and influenced

nationalism everywhere.
