teaching/learning environment to gather information about the ways that their particular schools
operate, how they teach, and how well their students learn; to answer questions or solve problems
about teaching and learning;
INSTRUMENTAL 1. Pre test
2. Test
DATA The questionnaires and interview result showed that the students’ attitude and motivation toward the

CONCLUSION From the research, the writer gets some findings: 1) Animation movies helps the students in getting
and developing the idea of their writing also helps the students to make draft and to make generic

No.2 RESEARCH TITLE IMPROVING STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY MASTERY USING FLASHCARDS
FORMULATION Is it possible to improve students’ vocabulary mastery and students’ motivation using flashcards?
OF PROBLEM
RESEARCH The method used is classroom action research. Meanwhile, the model of classroom action research is
METHOD this study is model by Kemmis and Mc Taggart (in Burns, 1999: 32) who state that the model of
action research is consist of four steps in a spiraling process. There are namely: a) Planning b) Acting
c) Observing d) Reflecting.
INSTRUMENTAL 1. Pre-test
2. Posttest
DATA The quantitative data were collected from tests (pre-test and posttest).
COLLECTION
TECHNIQUE
DATA ANALYSIS The analyses of the data were collected by using the Quantitative Data. The researcher analyses the
TECHNIQUE quantitative data from the tests (the pre- test and the posttest). The result of the test can answer the
problem whether or not the use of flashcards can improve students’ vocabulary mastery. It can be
identified from the differentiation of the mean in pre-test and post-test. The mean of the pre-test and
− ∑𝑥 − ∑𝑦
the post-test can be calculated with the formula as follows: 𝑥 = =
𝑁 𝑦 𝑁
CONCLUSION After conducting the research of teaching vocabulary at the Elementary School by using flashcards
and analyzing the data, the researcher found some research findings to answer the research questions
in the introduction, the results namely: 1) The students’ vocabulary mastery improved. The students‟
achievement was satisfied enough. It can be said that the existence of flashcards makes the students
familiar with certain words. They can see, read, and touch the object.

OF PROBLEM 2. Can students able to pronounce words correctly?
3. Can students grasp the meaning well?
4. Can students recognize vocabularies?
RESEARCH In conducting the study, the writer photographs and test. used action research method.
METHOD
INSTRUMENTAL 1. Tests
2. Pretest
3. Posttest
DATA After the data have been collected, they have to be analyzed. In this research the researcher using
COLLECTION quantitative data.
TECHNIQUE
DATA ANALYSIS The use of Google Docs improved the students’ writing skill of descriptive text. The mean score got
TECHNIQUE improved from the pre-test to the cycle 2 test, compared to the mean score of pretest which is 62.39,
