Insulators and Arresters

Our Veri*Lite™ (VLS) and PDI insula-
tors and PDV and PVR arresters have
helped Hubbell companies supply more
miles of line with polymer than any other
manufacturer.
With more than 20 years of polymer
manufacturing experience, we have the
track record and quality designs that
give superior performance, substantially
lower failure rates, reliable operations
and better contamination performance
than porcelain counterparts.
Our products are durable, yet light-
weight. Installing crews will be more
productive with less weight to slow them
down in the field and store room. Routine
breakage often associated with porce-
lain will be a thing of the past.
If gun-toting vandals have been
creating a problem shattering porcelain
products on your system, polymer is the
answer. A slim silhouette makes a less
appealing target. When hit, there’s no Ohio Brass Polymer
spectacular shattering to whet the
appetite of the vandal for more.

Ohio Brass polymer gives superior

performance to porcelain.

Ohio Brass Veri*Lite™ (VLS) and PDI

Polymer Insulators for 15, 25, 35 - 69kV appli-
cations are the wave of the future. At 1/10 the
weight of its porcelain counterpart, VLS offers
increased leakage distance of 15 - 20 percent.
The four VLS insulator sizes are dimensionally and
electrically equivalent to 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 porce-
lain 10” bell strings. The ESP rubber housing resists
tracking and erosion and provides long term
durability and improved contamination protec-
tion.
With Ohio Brass VLS polymer insulators, you
save time and money. You cut breakage losses
compared to porcelain. You cut shipping and Since 1976, Hubbell companies have supplied
handling costs because of the light weight com- more polymer insulators for transmission and
pared to porcelain. And, crews will find them easier distribution applications than any other
and faster to install. You cut labor costs, not to manufacturer.
mention losses caused by the gunfire of vandals.
Tested to the applicable ANSI, IEEE, IEC
and LWIWG standards.

The Ohio Brass patented triple-seal design virtually

eliminates moisture ingress, which causes 86 percent of
porcelain arrester failures. Using our arresters, you’ll
have better system reliability.
