Winter Principal Literacy Meeting

Resources to guide our conversation:

Please bring evidences that will support our conversations about your literacy work since our
last meeting such as:
● Agenda/notes from pd

● One-on-one teacher follow up conversations

Reflection questions prior to meeting:


● How has your leadership supported literacy instructional practices and student

● When we talk in June, what do you hope to see in place?
○ Proficiency marking at 54% or higher in Spring
○ A plan in how we can address systemically the social emotional challenges within
our building- 3 trainings for staff around trauma
○ Teachers to have a firm understanding on the MAISA units, essential standards
○ Each classroom running and sustaining effective workshop models (reading,
writing and math)
○ Scheduling- structure to accommodate a block
○ We won the fight

● Refine our vision again, and not get caught up in the whirlwind
