Network system and data communication engineers perform some or all of the

Setup and maintenance of MPLS and site-to-site VPN between all offices

Work with Systems Admin�s to design, implement and deploy storage related network

Cloud network path optimization using routing algorithms

Description
Reporting to the Management Director, the incumbent of this position is responsible
for the engineering design and integration of customized LAN / WAN solutions
meeting needs of large business customers. As part of the MS Center of Excellence,
this position represents a great technical opportunity and is a key factor for the
success of the Managed Services (MS) portfolio. Job Duties/ Accountabilities:
Collect information related to telecommunication needs identified by the clients.
Analyze and recommend business solutions. Writes, participates or coordinates, the
writing of service offers with a view to ensuring the quality of the documents
produced and an acceptable timeframe that satisfies the customer technical and
legal requirements, Bell and the partnership agreement. Design networking solutions
(LAN/WAN/MAN), based on business needs. Produce drawings and specifications for
achievement of tasks related to the selected solutions. Produce plans for new
solution introduction tests when required. Ensure technical testing is made.
Coordinate technical tasks required for the implementation of the solution chosen
by the clients. Provide follow-up to ensure terms of specifications are complied
with recommend upgrades, improvements or technological changes in order to maintain
network infrastructure operable and effective. Produce and draft technical reports
on request for the client or management. Act as technical consultant and advisor
for operational groups and management specific to field of expertise. Keep abreast
of leading edge technology in the data networking area. Critical Qualifications/
Competencies: Bachelors Degree in Engineering with major in Telecommunications.
Computer Sciences or equivalent; or equivalent experience. Minimum of three (3)
years experience in the field of telecommunications. Knowledge of LAN / WAN
networks, IP VPN (MPLS) service, wireless technology (WLAN). Knowledge of IP
networks and Cisco technologies. Certifications for major manufacturers (ex: CCNA,
CCDA).

weaknesses. Contributing to continuous growth of the Security Solutions practice
through mentorship, identification of new opportunities and development of Security
solutions. Assess security risk within Customer environments through risk

Expertise. Ownership of outcomes and ability to learn quickly and deploy on time
are important in the role. Critical Qualifications/Competencies: IT Security
experience is not mandatory. Bell will consider new graduates of preferred programs

of security technologies such as Firewall, Antivirus, Data Loss Prevention (DLP),

Description
The Technical Consultant in the Integrated Network Solutions section of Bell
provides the primary technical design support for Data, Voice and IT solutions to
the Enterprise account teams. They are the technical specialists for specific
enterprise customer technologies such as Routing and Switching, Wired and Wireless
LAN, Security, Data Center and Unified Communications. The primary responsibility
of this role is to provide the technical expertise to plan, design, implement and
troubleshoot complex internetworking solutions. The candidate would have
intermediate to expert level knowledge in internetworking solutions (CCNA/CCNP) &
hands on experience with various Cisco Enterprise LAN/WAN routing and switching
platforms, VMware, QoS, standard networking protocols, WLAN/LAN and Firewalls. As
the prime internetworking designer, the Technical Consultant works with the
Customer, the Account Team, the remainder of Enterprise Solution Engineering and
Network Operations and is responsible for the integrity and optimization of
customer network designs. Job Duties/Accountabilities: Planning, design and
implementation of specific Cisco technical solutions for Bell customers under
Professional Service engagements. Maintain a deep understanding of technology
vendors solutions such as Cisco and Juniper. Remain current with new products and
technologies in specific areas as dictated by marketing and by customer demands.
Perform a trusted advisor role within the customer organizations to review new
installations and changes to services and infrastructures, ensuring from a network
perspective all issues are taken into consideration with respect to standards,
technology and the overall solutions. Understand Bell products and services, in
their specialty, and incorporate them into customer solutions. Engage other Bell
resources as required in customer-specific technology adoption. Provide Post-Sales
and Operations support (Tier 4) for customer specific networks and technologies.
Participate in the development of customer quotations and proposals by assessing
customer requirements and designing solutions with Bell products and services.
Perform customer network assessments and audits and create associated
documentation. Enhance technical knowledge transfer to the customer through one on
one interaction and technical presentations. Provide advice, direction and guidance
to customers and internal stakeholders on design related activities and technology
selection. Influence product and service enhancements and developments. Participate
in metric management (tracking workflow progress, professional services targets,
profitability, etc). Assist with the management and support of specific vendor
relationships. Critical Qualifications/Competencies: Ideally the candidate is a
Professional Engineer or has a Computer Science degree complemented with industry
certifications centred around routing, switching, and wireless technologies. 3 - 5
years experience in the telecommunications/information technology industry. CCNP or
equivalent level certification and expertise gained from experience. Ability to
plan, design, implement and troubleshoot various networking technologies and
capable of deploying complex Cisco, Juniper, and Aruba solutions. Advanced
troubleshooting skills and experience in resolving complex network and Unified
Communication issues. Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and technical
writing skills. Ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-
technical personnel & customers. Must have excellent customer skills. Experience in
providing leadership and training to other team members /customers. Provide pre-
sales support and assist in the development of proposals. Possesses a deep
understanding of specific vendor options and configurations and is current on
product and service offerings ( Cisco, Juniper, Aruba) Experience with VMWare,
Cisco ISE/Nexus/Catalyst/ MPLS/ Meraki/ IOS/IOS-XE and XR � would be assets.
Experience with Cisco Sourcefire or other Next-Generation Firewall technologies -
would be asset. Ability to work on-site at client locations throughout Atlantic
Canada on occasion, as required.
