naimiṣe 'nimiṣa-kṣetre

ṛṣayaḥ śaunakādayaḥ
satraṁ svargāya lokāya
sahasra-samam āsata
Once, in a holy place in the forest of Naimiṣāraṇya, great sages
headed by the sage Śaunaka assembled to perform a great
thousand-year sacrifice for the satisfaction of the Lord and His
devotees.

Sb begins with a gr8 concern and compassion for others ... some
one who's willing to sacrifice the main chunk of ones own life
span in thinking as well as doing good for others in contrast to
today's man who's so steeply immersed with ones own profit
and benifit...

Naimise- naimisharanya forest

Story of brahma created a wheel in his mind and where this
wheel fell would bcome the best place for performing sacrifice..

Sketre- place - dharma shetre, purushottam skhetra

Bg-13 th ch -idaṁ śarīraṁ kaunteya
kṣetram ity abhidhīyate
etad yo vetti taṁ prāhuḥ
kṣetra-jña iti tad-vidaḥ
This body, O son of Kuntī, is called the field, and one who
knows this body is called the knower of the field.

Sb- 5cnto
Vishnor kala animiso makaro ca karna
Yr earrings resembles like brilliant shark unblinking eyes of
vishnu
When dvt performs ds, lord keeps his eyes wide open and never
blinks
And when dvt performs any mistake ., lord closes his eyes..overlooks them
Ex of putana/ k Closed his eyes and just saw the motherly side of putana and overlooked
her fault of coming to kill k.. so name of k is nimisha- one who blinks his eyes
Animisha-- without closing his eyes, he notices every service that his dvts does to him..
Ex draupadi- once k and Arjuna were talking and draupadi came with fruits but then
when she saw that they r discussing something serious , she just kept the fruit and left .. as
she was going k picked up the knife and started cutting the fruits and suddenly knife
slipped from his hand and blood ....
Draupadi came running and was looking for bandage and tore her saree and tied around k
finger
K - D , I will never forget u and yr act
And time came when d was being disrobed and k reciprocated by providing d unlimited
saree...

When v do any mistake v want everyone to forgive us , give us

benifit of doubt and when do some good activity, v want the
entire world to c and know our glories
But this world v live in- people r waiting to expose and pull u
down moment they c one small fault and magnify that and all
the good done till now goes in drain..
"Catch people doing right". That's the diff between a mature
leader and frustrated leader or manager
Sp appreciated people doing right and even if he corrected he
never made them feel dejected but more kc

Story- srutakirti p was massaging sp and 1 dvt entered, feeling

very concerned.. said, sp, the leader here is not chanting 16
rounds. How can v follow such leader
Sp- on the battlefield , Arjuna wasn't chanting his rounds... but
he was busy doing his service..he didn't have the time to chant
his rounds .. the leader may not b fighting such a battle but U
should
 C that this dvt is doing so much service that perhaps he doesn't
have time to chant his rounds...
Ofcourse that does not give us the licence to take this statement
of sp and give an excuse..
On other occasion, one dvt who was managing a tple and doing
a lot of bussiness but wasn't chanting 16 round
Sp/ what's the use of his management if he not chanting his 16
rounds ?
Story 2-
Sp was with some Indian people in his room in vrindavan .. he
was upset bcoz some of his godbrothers. Criticised his sanyas
disciples just bcoz they couldn't read Sanskrit properly
Sp- where does it says that one must b able to read Sanskrit in
order to go btg ..where does it say??
He was adamant...
He said my disciples may b disqualified in many ways but they
have one qualification, whatever I tell them to do, they do...they
have full faith in what I say ...
So sp closed his eyes and kept his eyes wide open if they did
something right..
Tkg- v were not good in etiquette but our good fortune was v
were trying to follow lord pure dvts despite our own
disqualification... this one quality surpassed every other good
qualification anyone might have ....
Story 3-
Sanyas disciple of sp got married and got a child when he came
to c sp in Mexico, the first sanyasi to fall down. He was afraid to
meet sp..
He offered his obesciences and mentioned how in cc, cm rejected
chota haridas and cm never wanted to c him again ...
Sanysi- sp, do I have to leave too?
Sp- cm could make the whole world in kc in a sec...but m not
cm, I can't do that. I need all the help...
Just do whatever service u can do in grihasta ashram and b
content.....
This was incredible.. sp never made a big thing out of a
problem... but gave every one a chance to rectify and move
ahead..
This is our hope where inspite of our short comings, our
inedequecy , conditioning, v r being forgiven and our faults r
overlooked ..
So naimisharanya is a holy place of hope .. v all need hope , v all
need mercy . Otherwise v r gone case , hopeless.
The day gr8 souls give up on us.. v r gone..
ram is dharma Parayan
Krsna is Prem Parayan
Cm is mix of both- Audarya Parayan
In dealing with our own selves law should supercede love. And
in dealing with others love should supercede the law..
V just cannot b dharma Parayan or Prem Parayan but have to
strike balance between the 2

The rishis saw that kaliyuga has started and to eliminate the
doshs of this age, decided to do fire sacrifice for 1000 yrs...
Or satram svargaya lokaya
In order to b elevated to heavenly planets, they assembled to
perform sacrifice
Svargaya also refers to that lord. who is glorified in the heavenly
planets - lord vishnu
Lokaya - to go to the planet of lord vishnu
So one more meaning is in order to go the abode of lord vishnu ,they
assembled ...
Sp- in translation -sacrifice for the satisfaction of the Lord and
His devotees.
...,..lokoyam karma bandhanam
Vct-initially saunakadi rishis had the the desire to go to the
heavenly planet but when they came in touch with Suta g , their
desires changed due to inquisitiveness and developed the taste of
Bhakti and they wanted to go to the highest abode...of lord
vishnu
That's the power of association .

1)one who's concerned and anxious about doing good to people
1. who knows expertly how to help that person or do good to
people
2. Willing to take gr8 risk at the cost of ones own personal
inconvineance to do good to people
3. So rishi is not described just in terms of long beard or jata but
in terms of qualities

One is they show concern , second is they have the power, and
energy to do good 3rd is they actually do good
There r many in this world who feel sorry seeing the condition of
the people of this world - they atleast express their concern
It's said
There r people who make things happen
There r others who watch things happen
There r people who wonder what happened
So many peoples heart goes out for those people who r going
through hell but can't do much
So heart is there but they have no capacity to use their head and do
something practical ..
2nd r the one who not only show concern but they go out to make
the change inte world -- put lot of energy in terms of mental thought
,
physical strength,
spiritual purity...

So they put not only heart but head ..

That's the life of a preacher-- puts both in his efforts in order to
bring out actual transformation...
if v just put heart and no head / then it's just sentimentalism,
philanthropist - trying to save the dress of the drowning person..
If v put our head and not heart than just dry jnani - or scholar ,giving
jnana but no practical exhibition
There has to b a combination of both head and heart.
So b may not b rishi but all v can do is assist the rishis like sp..
Sp exhibited all the 3 qualities of rishi

Life is all about sacrifice -- can v believe this fact that some one
lived inthis world just so that v remain happy and comfortable.,,???
And that too 5000 years back -- they sacrificed their life so that v
may get benifitted ??
When v come home after day of hard labour, v c that someone's kept
a glass of matka water..
hot prasad is ready on the table.
Prasad is cooked wth utmost care and devotion, keeping in mind my
liking and taste , the exact spicing, the subji that I like , the
flavoured rice of my choice, sweet that I like the most...

Bed is prepared after the meals..
Ac is on , and room is fragrant with jasmine Flwrs ...
Can v think that all this has come own its own,?? It just manifested
on its own..
Bcoz I deserve so I got...
Noooo,someone's worked for it .. someone spent his / her
intelligence to make it happen
If v do not acknowledge the efforts than v r so ungrateful , v r so self
centered , v r so impersonal ...
lly lord has prepared and kept everything ready that's needed for our
survival... imagine , v need O2 to breadth and survive and it's all
around CO2 or CO then how will v survive .. when v came v did not
have to think that way. Coz all that's there is O2 ...
V never acknowledge this fact but just used it and made it worst .
Our parents sacrificed for our growth , sustanaince and our success
of being where v r today...
So like this so many factors r responsible for our success
True wisdom is to acknowledge this fact that our success is
dependent on many people's sacrifice ...
Many times the count is unlimited...
Some one sacrificed for our to come to kc..
sp sacrificed his life for us
People say Jesus sacrificed his life for u..

Mayapur 1977 just b4 sp got really bad sick that eventually led to
his dis app .
Got invitation from Pujari from mahesh pandit sunadi.
Sp immediately agreed.
Hs p was upset and unhappy bcoz he being the personal servant of
sp knew how weak sp was
In fact aftetcoming to Mayapur . While standing on the balcony ,
looking at the feilds , sp said- never in my life have u felt so weak as
I do now. But still I would like to finish this sb
So many times. Sp collapsed on many occasions
Hsp- have complain- why do u have to go?
Sp/- no no. He hAs asked , so I must go . It's preaching
Hsp- but sp, tere r so many sanyasis here, they can go for the prog
Sp- no he wants me to go so I must go.
Sp- just as like a story in Krsna book about pradyumna...he was
injured on the battle field so taken back to the camp but then he
immediately returned back to fight..that was his duty
Hsp- but sp, it was his charioteer duty to take him off the battlefield
when he was sick..
Sp- yes, and it was his duty to immediately return and fight..
So he defeated me.. so determined.. and finally sp went for the prog
It was pandal prog -- stage- 4-5 steps that led to stage...
Started stepping up one by one ...
He was standing at the back with his hands stretched .. as he went
one step, he also went one step ..
Sp was pushing himself up the steps with his cane.., straining and
then his strength went and he collapsed .. caught him and put him up
on the stage..
Sp sat down like nothing had happened and gave a talk..
Hsp- sp literally sacrificed his life for us
The non dvts r eager to know the cause of. Death.v could say that
Sp wore out his body in the Service of Mankind. That was the cause
of his dis app..
So when v realise that someone's done so much for us, our head
should bow down with zillions of thNks and heart of gratitude .
Prahalad m is praying to Narsimha deva , he has achieved what no
one has .. no one could pacify n deva.all the demigods bowed their
head in front of Hk even narad muni bowed down . Pm did not...
and only he was pushed infront to pacify n deva..
So it was a matter of great pride
And now that world will know for rest of eternity that n. Deva
appeared just for him ,he could have bragged, boasted, boldly
proclaimed himself to b pure dvt , his prayers reveals his true heart
of a dvt
evaṁ janaṁ nipatitaṁ prabhavāhi-kūpe
kāmābhikāmam anu yaḥ prapatan prasaṅgāt
kṛtvātmasāt surarṣiṇā bhagavan gṛhītaḥ
so 'haṁ kathaṁ nu visṛje tava bhṛtya-sevām
My dear Lord, O Supreme Personality of Godhead, because of
my association with material desires, one after another, I was
gradually falling into a blind well full of snakes, following the
general populace. But Your servant Nārada Muni kindly
accepted me as his disciple and instructed me how to achieve
this transcendental position. Therefore, my first duty is to serve
him. How could I leave his service?
This is Vaishnava - as against the mood of mayavadi.. u use the
sm as a boat and once u cross the river than keep aside the boat
and bypass the sm..
