A complete range
of flanged fittings

Buried fittings are subjected to a variety of attack, including soil and back-fill
corrosivity. PAM fixed flanged fittings have an epoxy coating which provides
a high level of corrosion resistance in most applications, including highly
aggressive conditions.

On leaving the casting shop, the fixed flanged fittings have their running systems
removed, they are fettled and shotblasted in order to prepare the surface for
excellent coating adhesion. They are then tested before being given a dipped or
sprayed epoxy coating.

The epoxy powder coating, with a minimum thickness of 250 μm, on all the
internal and external surfaces of fixed flanged fittings from DN 60 to DN 900
provides reinforced protection against impact and aggressive effects of the
environment or the fluid conveyed. DN 1000 and larger fixed flanged fittings
have a polyurethane (PU) coating.

Over many years PAM has honed its experience in fittings by ongoing observation
of market requirements and the adoption of technological developments.
Modern processing technology guarantees tight control of process temperature
and coating thickness. Numerous inspections and quality tests are carried out:
checking the structure and mechanical properties of the metal and coating,
visual inspection, dimensional checks.

Finally, PAM holds a number of certificates and endorsements which guarantee its
ability to manufacture and supply ductile iron fixed flanged fittings in accordance
with very stringent quality assurance criteria and standards. The quality control
procedures and inspection requirements comply with the standards EN 545 and
EN 14901 which requires a holiday test for epoxy powder coating destined for
drinking water applications.

Note: Although flanged fittings are designed to be used in both buried and above ground applications,
when designing or constructing a pipeline, due attention should be paid to the risk of excessive bending
moment that could be transferred to the flanges of flanged pipework (as a result of differential ground
movement and/or thrusts from internal pressure at changes of direction).
These bending moments are such that many engineers recommend that flanged pipe is NOT buried.
When using flanged fittings in buried applications, it is recommended that the pipeline design should
include an element of flexibility, such as a rocker pipe or alternative, in connection of flanged assemblies
to the rest of the pipeline.

PAM
Fixed flanged fittings, the ideal
solution for all circumstances
Adaptable: fixed flanged fittings can be used for a variety
of applications, both for public utilities area and in industrial
environments, for the following purposes:

• Construction of network nodes whatever type of pipe

is used,

• Installation of valves on buried systems or in valve

chambers for the shut-off or balancing of networks,
• Equipment for specific systems, such as fire safety
systems,
• Construction of general underground or above-ground
systems carrying water under pressure (for treatment
plants, etc.)

Practical: fixed flanged fittings developed by PAM

show flexibility in installations as demonstrated in the
following applications:

• Construction of complex, multi-material pipe systems,

• Installation of self-anchoring lengths of pipe when

the construction of anchor blocks is impossible or
unadvisable,
• On-line dismantling for maintenance operations,
modifications or installation inspections,
• Great adaptability for pre-assembly operations on site,
• Connection of all types of pipes thanks to our wide range
of couplings.

Compliance with standards and regulations

• The flanged fittings comply with standard EN 545

• The coating complies with standard EN 14901
• The flanges comply with standard EN 1092
• The materials coming in contact with drinking water are in
accordance with European regulations on drinking water.

PAM
also offers a complete rotatable
flanged range, on request:

Flanged 90° Bend Concentric Flanged Tapers Flanged Tee

Flanged Spigot

For the installation of your fixed flanged fittings, PAM recommends the use
of metal reinforced gaskets. These gaskets:

- offer excellent mechanical strength and prevent any risk

of extrusion of the gasket during service
- are easy to fit thanks to centring lugs
- ensure joint leaktightness at lower tightening torques.

These gaskets comply with potability regulation standards,

have a Health Conformity Certificate for the French market,
BS6920 in UK and have a KTW Certificate in Germany.

In order to do to simplify your ordering, we can supply

a kit including gasket, bolts, nuts and washers.

Couplings and Adaptors
Self-Anchoring Dismantling Joints

With their adjustable length, these products are designed to simplify

the installation and dismantling of a flanged item in a network.
The self-anchoring dismantling joint Type JP allows the installation or
removal of equipment between two fixed flanges of a pipeline. Due to
their design, they allow anchoring of the joint and eliminate the need
for concrete anchor blocks.

The sliding system can reduce the effective length of the coupling by up to a 50 mm to ease
the removal of equipment.

The sliding system can reach a 50 mm displacement to

ease the removal of the equipment.

For this type of self restrained dismantling joint the locking

of the valve to the pipeline is made by the tie bars and
the gland.
