Sub: Finalization of fee structure of various professional courses for the

period from 2008-09 to 2010-11.

The State Government has passed an Act No.2 of 2008 namely “The Gujarat
Professional Technical Educational Colleges or Institutions (Regulation of
Admission and Fixation of Fees) Act, 2007” to make special provision for
regulation of admission in the professional technical educational colleges or
institutions in the State and fixation of fees in professional technical colleges
or institutions and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

The act has come into force with effect from 30th April, 2008 vide Government
of Gujarat, Education Department, Gandhinagar’s Notification No.GH/SH/5/
08/PVS-10-2006-3185-S dated 30.4.2008.

As per the provisions laid down in the Act, Government has constituted a Fee
Regulatory Committee for determination of fee structure for degree/diploma
engineering/pharmacy/Architecture/Hotel & Tourism Management, MCA &
MBA program in unaided professional colleges in the State.

The Committee, in its meeting held on 4th July 2008, decided to invite fee
proposals for the year 2008-2009 to 2010-2011 from all the concerned
institutes for validation/determination of the fee structure by 5th August,
2008.

After considering the relevant provisions of the referred Act, the details
submitted by the institutes and the actual cost for the year 2007-08 the

committee, has determined/validated fee structure (the maximum ceiling
limit) as per the Annexure A, B, C & D respectively for MBA, MCA, Degree
Engg, Hotel & Tourism Management for the year 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-
11.

The Committee also approved an interim fee structure for new professional
institutes approved by AICTE for the year 2009-10 as per Annexure E. This
interim fee structure shall be applicable for the year 2009-10 only. After
completion of first year of the institute, the institutes may come with detailed
fee proposals for the year 2010-11 in the prescribed proforma with audited
accounts for the year 2009-10.

The fee structure so determined shall be applicable to a student who is

admitted to a professional educational institute as shown in Annexure A, B,
C & D in that academic year (i.e. 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-11) where as
the fee determined as per Annexure E shall be applicable to a student
admitted in the academic year 2009-10 and shall not be revised till the
completion of his professional course in that college or institute. Individual
institute wise detailed fee orders are also being issued by the committee and
the same will follow this general order.
