• To establish the difference between guidance and counseling


• To identify some of the issues that students face.
• To come up with an effective way of how teachers, lecturers and
staff can effectively guide students in a collaborative way so as to
produce well rounded individuals.

DEFINITION OF KEY TERMS

• Guidance is a process of helping every individual, through his/her


own effort to discover and develop his/her potentialities for their
own personal happiness and social usefulness.
• Counseling is essentially a process in which the counselor assists
the counselee to make interpretations of facts relating to a choice,
plan or adjustment which he needs to make.
