1. Constructing the pond

 Should be constructed near a water source.
 The pond must be free from flooding.
 Construct a canal to divert excess manure into a compost pit.
 DIGGING BLADE OR SPADE = a tool that is firm and rigid tempered iron with a handle at one end and flat
spoon on the other hand.
 SLIDING BORAD = It is made of wood. It is needed and set in inclined position to help in the movement of
mud blocks from the excavation of the construction of the dike.
 WOODEN POST = From matured betel nut or trunks of anahaw tree is placed along the side of the bamboo
stakes to support both of the perimeter of the fishpond and the fence.
 BAMBOO = Used in building of the railings, stakes and battering rams.
 NYLON or POLYETHYLENE TWINE or ROPE #8 = used for tying the net to the railings of the bamboo.
 ANCHOR MATERIALS = composed of stone sinkers or bamboo pegs that are to secure the end of the
perimeter and the breaker nets as well.
 SYNTHETIC NETS = materials such as nylon, polyethylene and made of polyester.
2. STOCKING = Fingerlings are held in hapa nets for a while before placing them in the pond. Then the fingerlings
are transferred to the pond directly once they are ready for stocking.
3. FEEDING = May be done by hand or by dropping small amount into the pond. Refrain from overfeeding to avoid
water pollution.
= Fish farmers may give small pieces of supplementary food such as COPRA, RICE, SWEEPINGS, CORN, FISH
MEALS, LEFTOVERS and PIECES OF BREAD.
4. HARVESTING = Milkfish are caught by using a gill net.
