Made significant contributions to all phases of the software development life cycle for large-scale, enterprise data
warehousing and BI solutions for retail industry clients. Participated in requirements gathering and analysis,

Williams Sonoma’s Direct To Customer (DTC) Planning – Prototype Project:
 Created a C#.NET desktop application which implemented the functionalities of an excel sheet that
previously used the VBA scripts.
 Optimized database with partitioning and indexing; modified stored procedures for data optimization; and
converted VBA codes to C#.NET by integrating Excel with Visual Studio 2008 Codename Orcas.
 Additional technologies employed include Windows XP, MS SQL Server and NUnit.

Williams Sonoma’s DTS to SSIS Package Conversion:


 Converted the client’s Open To Buy application from DTS to SSIS and from the Retail Merchandising System
to Open To Buy.
 Oversaw the analysis of the DTS packages, performed feasibility analysis, handled the actual conversion
from DTS to SSIS, and managed the testing and deployment processes.
 Technical environment including MS Visual C#.NET, MS Visual Studio 2008 Codename Orcas, Windows XP,
and MS SQL Server.

Nepal Ministry of Local Development’s Vital Event Registration System (VERS)


 Served as lead of a 4-member programming team on this key project to provide a nationwide computerized
system for event registrations, delivering such critical features as data input, analysis, and report generation
as well as restricted access privileges.
 Turned around the project’s stalled performance to complete all development and testing and deliver the
finished application on schedule.
 Employed JSF, MySQL, Oracle, and Jasper Reports in developing the user interface, data access layer,
service layers, report formats, and through unit and integration testing.

Anchor Blue Retail Group’s (Canada) Cost-Based Reporting Project:


 Served as team leader and as the chief Nepal-based liaison with the U.S. project team throughout the client’s
transition from a retail-amount-based reporting system to a new cost-amount-based program.
 Leveraged Oracle, Cognos ReportNet, and Cognos Framework Manager to overhaul the existing database
and scripts for successful implementation of this new approach.

California Institute of Technology’s Econ-Vision Project:


 Created and deployed a fully customizable educational application enabling advanced software simulation of
real-life experiments, including remote administrative control and a simple Web-based interface.
 Oversaw the project’s testing aspect, creating test parameters, conducting tests, de-bugging issues, and
supporting the U.S.-based team throughout the verification, quality assurance, and code improvement
processes.
 Technical environment involving Adobe Flex, ActionScript, Darkstar, Blaze DS, and Eclipse IDE.

Williams Sonoma’s Retek Media Management (RMM) Project:


 Transformed this legacy Web-based media management system by testing and de-bugging reported issues
as well as investigating and integrating a variety of new technologies to determine compatibility and feasibility
for improving the system’s performance.
 Delivered a more manageable, bug-free code by using PMD to uncover and resolve potential issues and by
using Emma to ensure thorough testing of core code sections.
