b. When you are planning your unit and lesson plans, which of the ASSURE steps do
you think you spend most of your time thinking about? Why?
While I was planning my unit and lesson plans, I spent most of my time thinking about
utilize technology, media and materials because there are several tools to use while preparing
lesson plans. Preparing appropriate environment and preparing the learners are basic steps for
learning. In that way we can provide the learning experience. I gave importance to these
things and spent most of my time for this reason.
c. How did you determine the prerequisite skills or knowledge (if any) for your plan?
What is the rationale behind the time allocation?
I determined main colors concept as prerequisite skills because secondary colors are
formed by main colors. That is, children who do not comprehend main colors cannot fully
understand and learn secondary colors. I thought the time allocation is appropriate for this
lesson plan however; it can be changed according to children’s attention span and their
background.
e. How did you decide instructional methods, media and materials? Why did you choose
them?
f. What is the instructional theory on which your instructional activities are based? Or do
you use eclectic approach for them? Why?
According to Piaget children who are at 2-6 years old have not developed an abstract
thinking. To make their learning permanent teachers should provide them concrete and hands
on experiences so that I used concept map, animation, presentation, online survey…
g. How did you plan to utilize these instructional methods, media and materials?
Firstly, I chose my unit and lesson plan. Then, I decided to how I can provide the
concept through these methods, media and materials.
I prepared transition activities in lesson plan to catch children’s attention and provide their
fully participation.
i. How did you plan for evaluation and revision? What is the rationale for choosing the
measurement and evaluation methods?
I organized an online survey so that we can provide active parent involvement and
meanwhile assess and evaluate children’s learning. Also, they can review what they learned
and get feedback from their parents in that way. Also, I chose some assessment question types
from our national Early Childhood Educational Program because they are more familiar these
types.
