LESSON PLAN IN COMPUTER 4

I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
1. Differentiate the presentation tools used in early history.
2. Understand the use of Microsoft PowerPoint as a presentation tool
3. Give the importance of using presentation tools.

II. Subject Matter:


Topic: Overview of Presentation Tools
Reference: Exploring ICT MS Office p.146

III. Procedure:
A. Motivation:
 The teacher will show a picture of a blackboard and a chalk to the students and ask the
following questions:

1. Who do you think uses these tools? (Teachers are using these tools.)
2. What are they used for? (They use it for teaching.)
3. Why are they important for teachers? (So they can present their lesson to the
class.)
 The teacher shall explain to the class that due to the amount of information available, teachers
can no longer write and illustrate everything using the blackboard.

B. Learning Activity
a. Activity (Picture in Disguise)
Let’s play a guessing game. I will give the class a box that you need to pass around while the
music is playing. As the music stops, whoever holds the box shall pick one number inside. I will show a picture
for that number and let you guess the mystery word for that illustration.
b. Analysis
1. What did you do in the activity?
2. What are the words you learned from the activity?

c. Abstraction
 What are the different interactive presentation tools that teachers use?

 Flip Chart is a collection of large pages bound together at the top and often
placed on an easel.
 Slide projector was invented using 35mm photo transparency.
 Overhead Projector is used to utilize a transparent acetate media where text or
illustrations may be written or printed on the media. They are called
Transparency Sheets.
 Opaque Projector technology came into play next as opaque materials like books
also needed to be projected instantly
 Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) Projector followed by projecting presentations
created in presentation Tool software applications like MS PowerPoint.
 Interactive Board is an enlarged LCD Display. The touchscreen interface enables
a user to give commands directly on the board without using the keyboard and
the mouse.
 Microsoft PowerPoint is an example of a presentation tool. It is a part of the
Microsoft Office together with MS Word.

 What are the importance of using these presentation tools?


 It makes our presentation more interesting.
 It helps us to apply technology in learning new things.
