Compare Jurat and Acknowledgment

Jurat - It is that part of an affidavit where the officer certifies that the same was “sworn” before him. It is
used in affidavits, certifications verifications or whenever the person executing makes a statement of
facts or attests to the truth of an occurrence of an event, under oath.

Acknowledgment - It is the act of one who has executed a deed, in going before some competent officer
or court and declaring it to be his act or deed. An acknowledgement is to authenticate an agreement
between two or more persons, or where the document contains a disposition of property.
