This is the Exec mode of the CLI. The CLI provides two modes: the Exec mode and the
Config mode.
The Exec mode is the default mode when starting a CLI session. The Exec mode is
used to view management information and execute O&M commands. The Config mode is
mainly used to change the configuration. Although possible in Config mode, it is
recommended to view management information and execute O&M commands while in Exec
mode in order to minimize the risks of misconfiguring the system. The diagram below
illustrates how to enter and exit the CLI modes.

The following key bindings and commands are supported in the Exec mode:

KEY BINDINGS

arrow keys up and down arrow keys recall commands previously entered.
Left and right arrow keys move through the text on the command line.
question mark interactively display context related help information.
Provide also verbose help on any element
Example: >show?
tab when pressed at any position of the CLI command,
interactively request completion on all possible continuations of the CLI command
and model-defined elements the user is authorized to.

GENERAL COMMANDS

exit quit CLI session


help display CLI introduction help
history display the command history of the current CLI session
length display and set number of displayed CLI helpText rows until
display is suspended
prompt change the CLI prompt
scriptmode turn off and on the CLI interactive features
show display configuration and state information
show-config display the sequence of commands needed to re-create the same
configuration
show-dn display the current absolute location or LDN
show-counters display PM counters
show-mib display brief configuration and state information
show-table display configuration and state information in a tabular way
version display Ericsson CLI version
width display and set number of displayed CLI helpText columns

NAVIGATION COMMANDS
<LDN> move to absolute location indicated by <LDN> from any
location when <LDN> exists, return an error otherwise.
Example: (SystemFunctions=1)>ManagedElement=1 # when located
at SystemFunctions(Child of ManagedElement), move the user to the location
ManagedElement=1
<RDN> move to relative location indicated by <RDN> when <RDN>
exists, return an error otherwise.
Example: >ManagedElement=1 # when located above
ManagedElement, move the user to the location ManagedElement=1
dn navigate to the absolute location from any location.
Example: >dn ManagedElement=1
Example: >dn --moc Snmp
back move to the previous location
top move to the root of the managed object tree above
ManagedElement
up move to the parent Managed Object

TRANSACTION COMMANDS

configure enter CLI Config mode and start a transaction

SPECIAL PIPE COMMANDS

These pipe commands are available only if the ME supports their respective use
cases

filter print lines matching a pattern
