Arts Administrative Mission:  


As  a  teaching  artist,  I  seek  to  engage,  educate  and  empower  students  and  educators  through  the 
power  of  the  arts,  students  and  educators  must  always  be  inspired  to  explore  new  interests  and 
talents,  to  learn  about  our  culture  and  the  cultures  of  others,  to  believe  in  their  own  abilities  and 
potential, and to find an outlet of expression for their unique feelings and ideas.

 
Work Experience 
Director of Instrumental Studies, Lake Worth Community Middle School​, Lake Worth, Florida, 
2016-Present 
● Led 3 different level ensembles in woodwind, brass and percussion. Established an honor band 
ensemble made up of 6th and 7th grade students.   
● Led 65 students at Lake Worth Community Middle School to the Music Performance Assessment 
and Solo Ensemble hosted by the Florida Bandmaster Association in our local school district to 
successful ratings.  
● Successfully funded music program receiving $4,499 combine total in grants for the 2017-2018 
school year underwriting musical experiences for 109 music students.   
 
Director of Arts Education, ​Bright Futures Academy Charter School, Palm Beach Gardens, 
Florida, ​2008-2016 
● Led professional development workshops for 70 K-8 educators grades on “Laying the 
Foundation for an Arts Integrated Curriculum” as defined by the Kennedy Center’s “Changing 
Education Through The Arts.” 
● Led team-building activities, for all faculty and administrators, with a focus on “The Orpheus 
Method” as defined by the Harvard Business School, increasing productivity by 20%. 
● Developed a literacy-spelling curriculum as school-wide project serving 325 students, grades 
K-4, where rhythmic units are the anchors to understanding spelling patterns, increasing reading 
comprehension by 15%.   
● Collaborated with subject-area teachers to write and implement arts-integrated lessons and 
techniques to ensure best practices.  
● Established the Arts Experience Initiative; a supportive program to the arts-integrated 
curriculum, where all 650 students got to participate in the concert-going experience in 
partnership with local arts organizations and mentorship programs with artist residencies in 
music and visual art.   
● Wrote and implemented the music and visual art curriculum with scope and sequence of grades 
K-8th using arts integration techniques for all subject areas with a focus on our state and national 
standards.   
● Collaborated on the curriculum for the EDU-Garden™, an outdoor project for middle school 
students, where the main objective is to educate students on the importance of growing food, 
animal care, proper nutrition and life cycles.   
● Developed and directed for after-school care “The Connection Program,” which served as 
community outreach to our students and awarded 15 students a full scholarship to participate in 
arts workshops as recruitment campaign, raising enrollment by 20%.   

Teaching Artis​t, ​El Sistema​ Lehigh Valley, Allentown, Pennsylvania, 2012-2013 


● Collaborated on curriculum implementation for 82 urban-area students as designed by the 
Abreu model that focuses on a student-led, teacher-facilitated musical education.   
● Assisted in conducting the chorus in a collaborative concert with the Kutztown University 
Symphony Orchestra as a pilot program, where college music students become educational 
mentors to ​El Sistema ​Lehigh Valley. 

● Collaborated leading wind sectionals for the 2013 East Coast Seminario hosted by Soundscapes 
in Newport News VA, which united seven El Sistema-inspired programs and over 80 students 
from the eastern seaboard.  

Assistant Music Editor, Edwin F. Kalmus Music Publishing Company, Boca Raton, 
Florida, 2004-2008  
● Coordinated and develop sheet music restoration team, restoring out of print musical sources for 
later publication, which later yielded a net profit of 18% to the year’s budget.  
● Maintained and managed overseas accounts, analyzed statistical data of projected sales, which 
included music dealers, composer royalties and orders.   
● Managed the complete acquisition of other publishing company to include 8,000 new 
publications.
