Career Goals and Plans for Katelyn Hartley

Katelyn Hartley began her working career following graduation from BYU-Idaho obtaining
employment with Westwind School Division. She obtained a teaching job at the Mountain
View school teaching home economics.

Initial career goal: To become a family consumer science teacher.

Long-term career goal (20-plus years): To teach kindergarten/home economics at the

Mountain View school.

Short-term plans and goals in career establishment state (3-6 years): Find a good
internship, preferably in the money management field. Volunteer in home economics
classrooms in Westwind School Division. Graduate from BYU-Idaho, work hard at student
teaching.

Medium-term plans and goals in professional growth (7-12 years): Continue attending
AAFCS conferences. Network with other teachers in the field of family consumer sciences. If
possible I would love to obtain a masters in education.

Longer-term plans and goals in advancement stage (13-20 years): I would love to be a
principle of the Mountain View school.
