Library/Teaching
Experience - EdTPA focus was on teaching paraphrasing, summarizing, & research
skills with the 2nd grade class
- Created and executed a digital citizenship lesson plan for 5th grade.
- Researched and implemented assistive technology available for low
to no vision students to allow more time in the classroom.
- Developed and executed a safe search lesson plan for 5th grade to
kick off their informational writing unit.
- Directed the 5th grade LRC time on a weekly basis by giving book
talks, recommendations, and assisting students in locating books.
- Led daily small group stations in 5th grade co-taught Math.
- Participated and aided in the implementation of 2017-18 Battle of the
Books for District 106.
- As a way to utilize technology further in the classroom, I designed
and led a lesson on how to use Popplet as a mind mapping tool for
group collaboration.
- Designed and created an interactive reading Schoology page for 5th
graders as a reading engagement tool.
- Actively engaged with students in the classroom and filled in as
a substitute teacher whenever needed.

Children’s Services Intern
Support the summer reading program by directing volunteers, organizing materials for events,
and running activities in the children’s department. Conduct readers advisory, select books and
run story time multiple times a week.

Collaborate with classroom teachers to align library lessons to current curriculum. Focussed on
second grade for edTPA work by doing lessons that work towards the end goal of having the
ability to paraphrase, summarize, and find information. Select books for storytime for classes
that follow current topics being learned in the classroom. Work with students on library skills as
well as book selection while in the library.

John Hersey High School ​February 2018-April 2018


Student Teacher
Curated multiple collections for all grade level classes and gave book
talks to each class as a way to encourage reading. Facilitated multiple
database tutorials for senior dual credit classes. Implemented Wired
Wednesday in the library and worked with the local public library to
execute activities in the library during lunch hours. Set up book
displays and created bulletin boards as well as designing a Schoology
page for the library to promote the Lincoln Award books.

Managed a team of 4 managers and 50-70 employees. Responsible for
managing the budget of multiple stores, hiring and training managers
and employees, ensured customers had a top notch experience, and
to consistently exceed sales goals. Trained new store managers within
the market as Market Training Ambassador as well as served as the Dis
District Remodel Coordinator in charge of opening new stores as well
as remodeling existing stores.

Responsible for planning and launching product for over 80 stores.

Assistants. Created visual guidelines and trained department managers throughout the fleet.

Experience 7th/8th Grade Cheerleading Coach
Coached 24 girls on leadership skills as well as how to perform cheers,
stunts, dances, and tumbling for all of our basketball games.

Held multiple board positions (including Membership Vice President
and Individual Development Vice President) as well as chairing many
community projects.
Habitat for Humanity
Selected by my company (Gap Inc.) as one of 25 individuals to travel to Guatemala for one
week to assist in building three houses.
