(1) CFW data problem at the time of Cache or SM replacement

Item Description
Contents When an emergency de-stage performed at the time of cache or shared memory replacement and
not completed within the specified time, the CFW (Cache Fast write) data problem may occur.
Note that this problem does not occur when a replacement performed after the cache or shared
memory blocked due to a failure.
Conditions The problem may occur with all the conditions met.
1. In a mainframe environment, a job is running using CFW
2. Replacement or dummy replacement of cache PCB
3. An emergency de-stage, performed at the time of (2), and not completed within 110 minutes
due to a PDEV failure or overload, and an emergency de-stage is terminated (SSB EC= 3272)
Category SM/CM (Mainframe)
Changed DKCMAIN

(2) TCA/TC390A Pair Suspend Takes Time when Side file Full
Item Description
Contents It took time to judge the True Copy Async pair suspend caused by Side file full due to a path
failure.
Conditions This problem occurs with all the conditions met.
1. True Copy Async/ True Copy – S/390 Async volumes
2. Performance of RIO transfer is degraded due to a link failure or RCU overload
3. Pair suspend occurs due to Side file threshold excess
Note System option mode 338 is available to shorten the suspend judgment time.
In case of mode 338 ON, the Side file not transferred to the RCU (MCU Purge Suspend) if it is
full.
1. The fix is only available when mode 338 is set to ON,
2. In the N:1 configuration, make sure to set mode 338 to ON for all MCU (if not, the host
performance may be affected by the MCU on which the mode is not set),
3. When mode 338 is ON and the pair suspend occurs, EC=CC14 (failure suspend) may be
reported at the RCU
Category True Copy Async/ True Copy - S/390 Async

(3) Command Rejected when Using BCM
Item Description
Contents When using a command device on which host ID=0x1f is defined and performing a remote
operation on the BCM, the command was rejected with EC=6A1F reported.
Conditions The problem occurs with probability of 1/256 with all the conditions met:
1. BCM is in use
2. host ID=0x1f
3. A remote operation using a command device
Category True Copy - S/390

(4) Some pair status does not change in status transition with CTG specified
Item Description
Contents 1. Resync performed for Consistency Group, but some pair status does not change
2. Split performed for Consistency Group, but some pair status does not change
3. Delete Pair performed for Consistency Group, but some pair status does not change
4. When setting SPLIT time, status does not change though SPLIT time has passed, and SSB:
23F6 is output
5. When setting SPLIT time, status transition starts though SPLIT time has not passed
Conditions This problem occurs with any of the conditions met.
A. Conditions of occurrence for 1
(1) Perform Split for Consistency Group, and perform Resync for Consistency Group before
status transition of all pairs in Consistency Group is completed.
(2) Perform Delete Pair for Consistency Group, and perform Resync for Consistency Group
before status transition of all pairs in Consistency Group is completed.
B. Condition of occurrence for 2
(1) Perform Resync for Consistency Group, and perform Split for Consistency Group before
status transition of all pairs in Consistency Group is completed.
C. Conditions of occurrence for 3
(1) Perform Split for Consistency Group, and perform Delete Pair for Consistency Group before
status transition of all pairs in Consistency Group is completed.
(2) Perform Resync for Consistency Group, and perform Delete Pair for Consistency Group
before status transition of all pairs in Consistency Group is completed.
D. Conditions of occurrence for 4
(1) Perform Resync for Consistency Group, and set SPLIT time before status transition of all
pairs in Consistency Group is completed.
(2) Perform Delete Pair for Consistency Group, and set SPLIT time before status transition of all
pairs in Consistency Group is completed.
E. Condition of occurrence for 5
(1) Perform Split for Consistency Group, and set SPLIT time before status transition of all pairs
in Consistency Group is completed.
