Gator from scroll Saw Village is working on a pattern in GIMP and would like to add text along a
path. This episode I'll show you how to add text along a path using GIMP.

I'm glad you found it helpful. Check around 8:30 of the video and I show you how to sweep the
text upwards.

Anytime I try filling in the letters only about half of them get filled in and the ones that do look
crappy... I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong anyone have any suggestions?

When I add text to path it follows the path but at distance of i/2 inch, the same with circles it
forms a border there as well.

What about if you aren't using plain text but a comic font with built in shadows?

I've been trying to use an elliptical path but the text always gets placed in an awkward position.
Because it's not circular, it can't be fixed by just rotating the path. Is there a way to change where
the path will appear?

I just use spaces and kerning (put cursor between letters and hold down ctrl and use arrows to
nudge letters). I use that to position my lettering where I want them.

Ha! I agree! GIMP isn't a very good program to do stuff like this. Inkscape has much better
controls.
