BROOKS SLAMS CORRUPT OYSTER BAY CONTRACT, URGES IMMEDIATE PAS-

SAGE OF STATE MONITOR LEGISLATION

(Massapequa, NY) Senator John Brooks slammed the Republican-led Town of Oyster Bay fol-
lowing reports of a public service contract being provided to a company with scandal-tainted
CEO. The company in question, RouteSmart Technologies, under the leadership of Frank Ante-
tomaso who is under criminal indictment, will receive approximately $200,000 of taxpayer
money to provide on-call technical assistance for waste management services.

“This is an astonishing example of insider politics and a complete disregard for protecting tax-
payer money,” Senator John Brooks said. “Doling out no-bid contracts to companies run by
scandal-plagued individuals should be a relic of Tammany Hall, not the standard operations of
modern day Oyster Bay. Long Island residents deserve leaders who will use taxpayer money to
serve the public, not line the pockets of corrupt insiders.”

Frank Antetomaso, the CEO of RouteSmart Technologies, is currently under criminal indictment
as part of the corruption crisis and failed leadership that has plagued Oyster Bay taxpayers. He is
a former Oyster Bay Public Works Commissioner, who became known for having his cellphone
tapped, along with those of disgraced former Supervisor John Venditto and former planning and
development Commissioner Frederick Ippolito, by the Nassau District Attorney’s Office as part
of an investigation into official corruption.

Senator Brooks noted that this most recent example of corruption by the Town of Oyster Bay
further demonstrates the need for a state monitor to oversee the town and combat corruption. The
Senator has sponsored Senate Bill S.2308 which would empower the State Comptroller to ap-
point a monitor to finally take action and protect Town of Oyster Bay residents from the rampant
fraud and pay-to-play culture.

“Despite the outcry from voters tired of corruption and dysfunction, the Republican-led Town of
Oyster Bay leadership continues to abuse taxpayer money. Clearly, we need the State to step in
and end this corruption once and for all, and that means an outside, independent monitor must be
appointed. I have been proud to sponsor this legislation, and I will keep pushing for its passage
to ensure the taxpayers are respected and corruption is finally stamped out in Oyster Bay,” Sena-
tor John Brooks concluded.
