EVIDENCE GUIDE
(1) Critical Aspects of Evidence
It is essential that competence is fully observed and there is the ability to transfer the competency
to changing circumstances and to respond to unusual situations in the critical aspects of repairing
and retrofitting air conditioning systems
Knowledge of:
• OH&S guidelines
• Refrigerant types and application
• Industry/Workplace codes of practice
• Industry standards where applicable
• Construction and operation of systems relevant to application
• System electrical circuits
• Equipment/material safety requirements
• Equipment maintenance procedures
• Appropriate refrigerant/oils and capacities
• Repair/retrofitting procedures
Skills
The ability to:
Assessors must be satisfied that the candidate can competently and consistently perform all
elements of the unit as specified by the criteria, including required knowledge
Tasks involved will be completed within reasonable timeframes relating to typical workplace
activities
