• GENCON 94 is the most popular and widely used general purpose voyage charter
party in the industry and is for all kinds of trades and for numerous types of cargoes.

• BARECON 2001 is the successor to BARECON 89 which established itself as the


industry’s standard bareboat charter form, enjoying widespread use throughout the
world.

• SUPPLYTIME 2005 is part of a suite of offshore industry related forms produced


by BIMCO. The other forms in the suite include HEAVYCON, PROJECTCON,
BARGEHIRE, TOWCON and TOWHIRE.

• SALEFORM 2012 is the latest edition of the highly successful Memorandum of


Agreement for the Sale and Purchase of Ships, issued by BIMCO and the
Norwegian Shipbrokers Association.
• BOXCHANGE is part of a suite of container industry related forms produced by
BIMCO. The other forms in the suite include BOXTIME (The BIMCO Standard
Time Charter Party for Container Vessels) and BOXLEASE (The BIMCO Standard
Container Leasing Agreement).

• GENTIME is designed primarily as a conventional dry cargo time charter but it can
also easily be adapted for the transportation of containers.

• SHIPMAN 2009 is the latest edition of BIMCO's highly successful and widely used
standard ship management agreement.

• GUARDCON has been developed by BIMCO to assist the industry, and in


particular shipowners and their P&I Clubs, by providing a clearly worded and
comprehensive standard contract on which they can conclude agreements for
security services.
• BILLS OF LADING- The CONGENBILL 2007 was approved by
BIMCO’s Documentary Committee at its meeting in Copenhagen on 16
November 2007.

• OTHER: BTIME3 (Time Charter Parties), GENWAYBILL (Waybills


and Cargo Receipts), WRECKFIXED 2010 (Salvage), FONASBA
(Standard Liner and General Agency Agreement), etc.
• CHARTERING
EVERY YEAR, HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF TONS OF CARGOES ARE MOVED OVER THE
OPEN SEAS ROUTES. RAW MATERIAL SUCH AS: OILS, IRON ORE, GRAINS, FERTILIZERS,
COALS, SUGAR, SCRAP, COPRA, MEAL, CATTLE ON FOOD, STEEEL SCRAP, etc; ARE USUALLY
SEND BY BULK CARRIERS AND IN LOTS LARGE ENOUGH TO FILL SHIPS OR VESSELS WITH A
SINGLE COMMODITY FROM PRODUCING STATES OR REGIONS TO CONSUMING AREAS. AS
WELL, FINISHED PRODUCTS LIKE STEEL, AUTOMOBILES, HEAVY MACHINERY AND
REFRIGERATED CARGOES ARE TRANSPORTED IN CONSIGMENTS LARGE ENOUGH TO LOAD
SHIPS TO FULL CAPACITY. ANYHOW, THE CONTRACT FOR CARRYING THE GOODS IS
KNOWN BY THE GENERIC WORD OF “CHARTER PARTY”, A TERM DERIVED FROM THE
LATIN CHARTA PARTITA, WHICH LITERALY MEANS “LETTER DIVIDED”. IN THE EARLIEST
DAYS THE DOCUMENT WAS CUT IN TWO PARTS IN ORDER THAT EACH PARTY COULD
REMAIN OR RETAIN A SEGMENT BECAUSE BOTH WERE EXACTLY THE SAME. THE CHARTER
PARTY IS A MARITIME CONTRACT BETWEEN CHARTERER AND SHIPOWNER, OBTAINING
THE USE OF A VESSEL OR SHIP FOR ONE OR MORE VOYAGES, OR FOR A SPECIFIED PERIOD
OF TIME. UNDER THIS CONDITION GENERALLY THE VESSEL OR SHIPS USED ARE
TECHNICALLY PRIVATE CARRIERS. FURTHERMORE, THREE KINDS OF CHARTERS ARE
AVAILABLE, INCLUDING CoA PER LARGE QUANTITIES OF VOLUM AND VERY LONG
PERIODS OF TIME, ALWAYS TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION THE SHIP OR VESSEL
SEAWORTHINESS.
