Impact of learning style to study habit of Senior high student.

Success in the life of education is one of the most important assets

that each student should have; it is part of the purpose of studying (Ebele &

Olofu, 2016). Every moment while studying may already give burden for the

students. However, as a part of students' instincts, they also find ways in

order to thrive against these hardships. They find solutions to these

challenges like having different strategies in learning different areas of

lessons and having different study habits just to learn and make the

schooling to be effective. Sad to say, these do not give them the assurance

of success, so they find other things that would associate them with their

unique way of studying.

Definitions of learning style generally focus on ways of learning.

According to Fleming (2001) learning style is an individual’s preferred way of

gathering, organizing, and thinking about information. It is considered as the

behaviors related to the psychological, cognitive, and affective domains of

interaction with learning environments. Learning style involves learners’

preferred ways to receive, process, and recall information during instruction

which is related to learners’ motivation and information-processing habits

(Aragon, Johnson, & Shaik, 2002).

Research studies on learning styles have shown that learning can be

enhanced through consideration of personal characteristics in design and

delivery of the instruction (Dziuban, Moskal, & Hartman, 2004; Fearing &

Riley, 2005). Because some learners tend to focus on facts, data, or

procedures, engaging with theories and mathematical models is appropriate.

Other learners use visual information like pictures, diagrams, and

simulations to understand better, while others can get more from oral and

written information. Researchers have argued that learning style also

functions as a useful indicator for potential learning performance (Kolb &

Kolb, 2005; Smith & Ragan, 1999; Sun et al., 2008).

The researchers have decided to conduct the study among Senior High

School students because some of the studies being conducted are only

focusing on college and Junior High School students as respondents.

Furthermore, Senior High School students also seem to be very laborious in

their studies because of hard subjects that they are currently taking. This is

the reason why the researchers choose them because they seem to have

their unique study habits that help them in studying.

In general, this study is very essential in the way of understanding the

unique study habits of the Senior High School students. As researchers, this

study would lead us to know what existing contribution learning styles gives

in the way students study their lessons.
