Chemrite – CNI

Chemrite – CNI
Corrosion inhibiting admixture for concrete
_______________________________________________________________________________
Product Description Chemrite-CNI is an admixture designed to inhibit the corrosion
of steel in reinforced concrete. In the high alkalinity of concrete,
reinforcing steel builds up a natural passivation layer. This layer
protects the steel from corrosion. This passive ferric oxide layer
however can be damaged by the presence of moisture and
oxygen which will lead to corrosion of the steel.
Chemrite-CNI provides the passivating protective layer.

Uses Chemrite-CNI is especially suitable for reinforced concrete
subjected to danger of corrosion. It specifically protects from
chloride induced corrosion. Fields of application are:
-- Concrete roads
-- Bridges
-- Tunnels
-- Retaining walls
-- Industrial plants
-- Park decks in multi storey car parks etc.
-- Massive structure

Advantages Chemrite-CNI is a corrosion-inhibiting admixture that provides
protection against corrosion in reinforced concrete structures.
Chemrite-CNI extends the service life of reinforced concrete
structures. It is recommended for use in all types of reinforced
concrete, precast and /or prestressed concrete as well as ready
mix applications.

Application Details
_______________________________________________________________________________
Dosage The recommended dosage rate will vary between 1.0 ~ 2.0 % by
weight of cement, depending on the severity of the corrosion
environment.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Dispensing Measure the required quantity manually or by automated
dispenser. Add Chemrite-CNI directly into the freshly mixed
concrete at the end of the batching cycle. When used in
combination with other admixtures, care must be taken to
dispense each admixture separately into the mix. Mix water
adjustment is necessary to account for the water in Chemrite-
CNI and thus, maintain the required water/cement ratio.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Concrete Placing The standard rules of good concreting practice (production as
well as placing) must also be observed when using Chemrite-
CNI concrete.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Curing Fresh concrete must be cured properly, especially at high
temperatures in order to prevent plastic and drying shrinkage.
