Ceramic heaters are "long-range" emitters. The ceramic surface of the heaters is
heated by gas combustion and emits rays in the form of energy converted into heat
by the objects in their path. This type of emission is called "infra-red".
It is invisible and is found just next to visible red in the solar spectrum.
Useful heating :
Ceramic infra-red rays produce heat within the objects they meet.
With ceramic infra-red heating, the air temperature is lower than the
comfort level temperature.
Ceramic infra-red heating does not overheat the upper parts of the
buiding, and losses due to air renewal are greatly reduced.

- SBM ceramic heaters are admitted to class 4 (the best) of standard EN 419-1
with regard to NOX emissions (100 mg / kWh maximum).
- SBM ceramic heaters are admitted to class 2 (the best) of standard EN 419-2
with regard to radiant efficiency (higher than 50%).
- SBM ceramic heaters do not cause any air movement in the premises
(advantage in dusty atmospheres and in the case of work carried out in controlled
atmospheres).
Direct heating without heat transfer fluids (air, steam, water or oil) generates significant
energy savings:
- Temperature rises quickly (95% of emitted capacity reached within 5 mins), so the
heating can be turned on just before it is needed.
2.3.4- LIFE-TIME
- SBM ceramic heaters are made of quality ceramic, stainless steel and brass (no
fragile surface coating).

- The framework of the building does not need to be reinforced to accomodate them.
SBM ceramic heaters are fitted into the framework of the building or below the
travelling crane rails :

changing the programming (e.g. : heating exceptionally required on a day off)
In the same way, on the MTH150 module, the value of Delta 50% - 100%

a defect. In this event, a flashing message is displayed on the module:
- on MT modules :
VENTILATION DEFECT
- on MTH modules : HEATING STOPPED

ª Installation height :
The depth P is function of the heaters fixing height H and angle of inclination i
(between 20 and 40°).

- Heaters hanged with a small inclination (10 to 15°):
Always install the heaters with 10° minimum inclination. In such case the floor
area heated is a square area 2H x 2H.
2H
The heater is in the centre of the heated area :
2H
ª Minimum safety requirement :
- The heaters and gas lines must not be used as fixing points.
- Each terrace installation must include a main gas valve (manual), easily
accessible for shutting off all heaters.
The installation times listed below are for guidelines only. SBM shall not be liable
in case the following figures are exceeded for a specific job.
