Conflicts of Law
1) The new points system for this year's 27th Conflicts of Law as decided by the Executive
Committee are as follows:

2) All schedule of games will be posted one week before the Event.
3) There will a Grievance Committee (GC), consisting of one (1) representative from every
participating schools. There will be three (3) GC members for every game of every event.
These members shall consist of representatives from other schools. They shall decide for
the concerns of the players during the event. When the decision of the Committee is
questioned, a formal appeal shall be submitted to the Executive Board for deliberation.
4) As agreed by the Board with the participating schools, it was decided that there would
be no change of schedules. Any form of action regarding change of schedule, regardless if
the competitors will agree, shall not be entertained.
5) All teams are advised to be in the venue one hour ahead of their scheduled games to
avoid being declared in default, and also be able to play earlier than scheduled if the
previous games end early. All teams are given an allotted grace period of fifteen (15)
minutes, arrival later than the given grace period shall be considered default.
6) To aid schools having similar players in their basketball and volleyball categories, we
extended the maximum player roster for said games to 25 for basketball, and 20 for
volleyball.
7) We will be implementing a 'Clean-As-You-Go' (ClayGo) policy starting this Sunday
(February 5, 2017). Each school must claim their respective garbage bags at the
registration table. We will be monitoring all schools, such that violators of this rule will be
fined. (P 500.00)

9) The House Rules to be strictly followed by the participating schools are the following:
a. Please observe proper decorum during the games. We will not tolerate any untoward
acts detrimental to the original purpose of the Conflicts of Law.
b. During the games, do not forget to bring your school I.D or registration form with a valid
ID.
The host school shall be strict about this requirement. For non-law students who wish to
enter the venue during the games, please send their names through your school's
representatives at least 4 working days before each Sunday.
c. You can bring in packed lunch but for those who are going to be provided for by caterers,
submit an entry request so that we can notify the school beforehand.
d. Violence/fighting will not be tolerated, in-game or not. The Conflicts of Law is an event to
foster solidarity among the member schools, not to settle grudges. In case of the most
severe circumstances, we will impose the following sanctions for those who violate the
rules on safety:
e. If an athlete is not on the list but participated in the events, those games he/she played
will be counted as a loss by default. However, if the erring school fielded a non-law student
or a student of another school, an automatic disqualification from the said sport shall be
imposed.

BASKETBALL GUIDELINES
The official rules of basketball shall govern the basketball games for the ALSP Conflicts of
Law. These guidelines shall serve as exceptions or addendum to the former.
A. DIVISIONS
There shall be two (2) divisions: Men’s Division and Women’s Division.
B. TEAM COMPOSITION
A team may have a maximum of twenty-five (25) members, provided that only twelve (12)
can be used in any game, provided further that only five (5) players per team will play on
the field.
Each school may only send one (1) team for the basketball games.
C. PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
A player shall be deemed eligible to join the competition to represent his/her law school
upon the submission of the following requirements:

of the Philippines (NCR) in Luzon.
The games shall be held on the Sundays of February. The exact date and venue for the
games will be announced prior to the competition.

VOLLEYBALL GUIDELINES
The official rules of volleyball shall govern the volleyball games for the ALSP Conflicts of
Law. These guidelines shall serve as exceptions or addendum to the former.
A. DIVISIONS
There shall be two (2) divisions: Men’s Division and Women’s Division.
B. TEAM COMPOSITION
A team may have a maximum of fifteen (15) members, provided that only twelve (12) can be
used in any game, provided further that only six (6) players per team will play on the field.
Each school may only send one (1) team for the volleyball games.
C. PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
A player shall be deemed eligible to join the competition to represent his/her law school
upon the submission of the following requirements:

D. DATE AND VENUE
The games shall be held on the Sundays of February. The exact date and venue for the

FUTSAL GUIDELINES
The official rules of futsal shall govern the futsal games for the ALSP Conflicts of Law. These
guidelines shall serve as exceptions or addendum to the former.
A. DIVISIONS

A team may have a maximum of twenty (20) members, provided that only five (5) may play
on the field. Furthermore, each team is allowed unlimited substitutions.
Each school may only send one (1) team for the futsal games.
C. PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
A player shall be deemed eligible to join the competition to represent his/her law school
upon the submission of the following requirements:
Certificate of Registration for the second semester of SY 2016-2017(Photocopy)
Waiver (included in the General Contract)

Certification of the Dean and School Registrar
Additionally, the player’s school must be a member of the Association of the Law Students

FOOTBALL GUIDELINES
The official rules of football shall govern the football games for the ALSP Conflicts of Law.
These guidelines shall serve as exceptions or addendum to the former.

A team may have a maximum of twenty (20) members, provided that a maximum of eleven
(11) players may play on the field, in which one (1) player must be the goalkeeper, provided
further that either team shall have at least seven (7) players.
Each school may only send one (1) team for the football games.
C. PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
A player shall be deemed eligible to join the competition to represent his/her law school
upon the submission of the following requirements:

BADMINTON GUIDELINES
The official rules of badminton shall govern the badminton games for the ALSP Conflicts of

Singles
Only one (1) player is allowed in each team to play in singles. Each school may allow a

Mixed Doubles
Only two (2) players (1 male and 1 female) are allowed in each team to play in mixed
doubles. Each school may allow a maximum of two (2) teams to join mixed doubles.

The official rules of Asian Parliamentary Debate shall govern the team debates for the ALSP
Conflicts of Law. These guidelines shall serve as exceptions or addendum to the former.
A. DIVISIONS
B. TEAM COMPOSITION
A team shall three (3) members; but they need to provide one (1) additional member to
serve as an adjudicator.
Each school may send a maximum of two (2) teams for the team debates.
C. MOTIONS
The motions shall be released thirty (30) minutes prior to the start of each match.
The two opposing teams shall decide which will take the Government and the Opposition
side. Likewise, the opposing teams may number the motions in order of preference, and
shall pick the motion in which they have the same number, or may otherwise agree with
the same motion using some other way.
Once the opposing teams had selected their motion, they must inform the chief adjudicator
prior to the start of the match.

D. ADJUDICATION
The adjudication body shall be composed of one (1) chief adjudicator and two (2) junior
adjudicators. Each match must have one (1) adjudication body. No adjudicator may observe
the match which include a team of his/her school.
The chief adjudicator shall preside the flow of the debate. He/She is responsible for setting
the time for each speaker. Also, the chief adjudicator may use some form of signal (clapping,
tapping on the chair) to let the speaker know how much time is left.
Once the match has ended, the opposing teams shall leave the room to let the adjudication
body decide the winning team. They shall be given five (5) minutes to decide.
Each adjudicator may share his/her point of view and may state his/her rationale in
choosing the winning team.
Furthermore, the opposing teams shall give a score to the adjudicators to evaluate their
skills in judgment. The grading system shall be discussed further prior to the start of the
matches.
E. DEBATE PROPER
Each speaker shall be given seven (7) minutes to deliver their constructive speech. Once
the time ends, the speaker must close his speech. The speakers will be speaking in the
following order:
1. Prime Minister
2. Leader of the Opposition
3. Deputy Prime Minister
4. Deputy Leader of the Opposition
5. Government Whip
6. Opposition whip
7. Opposition Reply
8. Government Reply
Members of the opposing team may raise Points of Information (POI) at anytime between
the first (1st) and sixth (6th) minute of the speech. The speaker may accept or refuse the
POI.

The team debates shall following Matter, Manner, Method system for scoring.
1. Matter (40)- substance of the debate, the arguments and evidence presented, and the
logical reasoning and presentation of said arguments.
2. Manner (40)- the style of delivery, the persuasion skills, and the conduct of the debaters.
3. Method (20)- the response to the dynamics of the debate, and the observance of the rules
of debate.
The grading system shall be discussed further prior to the start of the matches.

There shall be two (2) divisions: Single 9-ball and 8-ball double.
B. TEAM COMPOSITION
Single 9-ball
Only one (1) player is allowed in each team to play. Each school may allow a maximum of
two (2) teams to join singles.
Double 8-ball
Only two (2) players are allowed in each team to play. Each school may allow a maximum of
two (2) teams to join doubles.

COUNTER-STRIKE GUIDELINES
These guidelines shall govern the games for the Counter-strike tournament of ALSP
Conflicts of Law.
A. DIVISIONS
There shall be only one (1) division for the Counter-strike tournament.
B. TEAM COMPOSITION
A team is composed of five (5) members. Each school may only send one (1) team for the
Counter-strike tournament.

D. SCORING SYSTEM
Each of the opposing team will play of 20 rounds (10 rounds as Terrorist, 10 rounds as
Counter-terrorists). The first team to win 10 rounds will be declared as the winner in a
match.

DARTS GUIDELINES
The rules for the game of “501” shall be observed during the darts competition for the ALSP
Conflicts of Law. These guidelines shall serve as exceptions or addendum to the former.
A. DIVISIONS
B. PLAYER COMPOSITION
Each school may only send two (2) teams for the darts competition.
C. BASIC RULES
In a game of 501 the object is for one player or a team to be the first to reach zero from
starting total of 501.
In simple terms, after three darts are thrown, the throwing player subtracts the total scored
from his current total until he reaches zero.
In order to reach zero each player must finish by throwing a double i.e. if player one has 36
remaining he must hit double 18 to win, while if player two has 45 remaining he must hit
single 5, double 20 to win - or a another combination of scores provided the final dart
scores on a double.
C. PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
A player shall be deemed eligible to join the competition to represent his/her law school
upon the submission of the following requirements:

DotA GUIDELINES
These guidelines shall govern the games for the DotA tournament of ALSP Conflicts of Law.
A. DIVISIONS
There shall be only one (1) division for the DotA tournament.
B. TEAM COMPOSITION
A team shall be composed of five (5) members. Each school may only send one (1) team for
the DotA tournament.
C. RULES
4. Sides (Radiant/Dire) will be on ‘Random’ Game Setting. Players from the same team
must be on the same side.
5. If both teams disagree on the Sides, they may contact an admin for a Coin Toss.
6. The first team to destroy the opposing team’s ancient (main building) wins, or all
players on a team intentionally disconnects.
7. In the case of a server crash, the game can be continued from the latest save. The person
who hosted the lobby for the match will have the option (game setup option) to load from a
save file when they host again. The save file is generated every minute in the background.
8. In the unlikely event that the reload does not work, the game will be replayed with the
same exact hero picks and lane movements until the first creep wave of the Radiant and
Dire side meets.

9. The use of third-party programs is strictly forbidden, except for voice chat.
10. Additional rules may be discussed prior to the start of the matches.
D. PLAYER ELIGIBILITY

These guidelines shall govern the beer pong competition for the ALSP Conflicts of Law.
A. DIVISIONS
B. TEAM COMPOSITION
A team must have two (2) members. Each school may only send two (2) teams for the
basketball games.
C. GENERAL GAMEPLAY
Beer Pong is generally played by teams of two in which each team takes turn throwing a
ping pong ball into the other team’s cups. Once a ball lands in a cup, the cup is taken away
and the opponent then drinks the contents of the cup. If both teammates hit cups, the balls
are rolled back and they get to shoot again. The team that successfully hits all of the
opponent’s cups wins the game.

The four (4) teams with the highest number of wins shall play in the semi-finals. The four
(4) remaining teams will play two (2) rounds for the semi-finals.
The two (2) teams with the best win-loss record will play for the finals.
