EDP 1.3.5 29/08/08 Application Update
• Users page displays full list and Log out button.
• NetVu ObserVer users can log in and view an initial list of
alarms, or any alarms that arrive subsequently.

1_9_4 29/08/08 New features


• The Incident Finder is a feature to support the manual process
of finding video relating to an incident when there is no meta
data associated with the event itself i.e. the event did not
cause an alarm or VMD activation. The Incident Finder will
allow rapid search of incidents through a time-line of still
JPEG images.
• Added hidden property to NetVu ObserVer which disables or
hides all the UI controls that can be used to extract/download
video from the system. (Contact Technical Services for
further information)
Application Update
• Applying changes to the decoder now submits all of the
connections for all of the monitors
• Can now distinguish the different decoder types and send the
appropriate commands on right mouse click in single layout
mode.
• Drag and Drop now works on decoder servers.
• Changed the default image format to MPEG4. Note that it is
possible in ObserVer to save your own set of defaults for use
when creating new sites, and those will still take preference
over this change.
• Time-line bar in replay viewer now uses PC time zone
settings and date format.
• Milliseconds appear to countdown when the video is playing
is fixed
• Site plan now updates and displays correctly.
• Can now import par files when NetVu ObserVer is set to
Turkish language mode.
• Burn to download file now automatically launches the CD
Burn File Wizard after the download has completed.

New Functionality

• Enhanced user operation of replay server to enable multiple drives,


locations or files to be added as one index. This enables utilisation of
BX2 CA with 2 drives.
• Capability to save and view multiple reference images has been added
- Reference image viewer switches when cameras selected in the tree.
• Save still image provides a recommended file name based on
{site_id}-{channel_number}-{YYYYMMDD}-{HHMMSS}-
{milliseconds}. This can be overidden
• An associated text file of header text is saved with a still image with
extension .txt. A comment field is also available when saving images.
• Preset Sequence functionality has been added to enable Views on the
NetVu ObserVer window to be sequenced.

• A cameo view has been added to the site info and site plan tabs

Exception handling
• A 'NoSuchElement' exception is no longer thrown when trying to
open a video partition that contains no video. Instead the file can be
opened and will return the "No Image Available" image.
• A 'FileNotFoundException' is no longer thrown when NetVu
ObserVer is run for the first time.
Downloads
• Filtered downloads now complete reliably, even if the server closes
the connection without sending an image that is after the expected
finish time.
• FTP downloads no longer timeout prematurely meaning that reliable
downloads over ADSL and Wi-Fi networks is now possible.
IP connections
• Cached data from video servers is now cleared when disconnecting
from the video server. This means it is no longer necessary to restart
NetVu ObserVer to pick up changes to camera titles, relay status etc.
It is still necessary to disconnect and reconnect to the video server
however.
• It is now possible to connect to video servers that have a hostname
beginning with a digit.
Date and Time
• The date and time picker component now uses the correct date when
activated, instead of always using the current date.

This version of software will run with all 1.5.x versions of Java runtime
environment. We recommend using the latest version of Java, which is
currently Java version 6. Enables Open GL interfaces to graphics cards to
enhance the update and graphical rendering of NetVu ObserVer.

• Alarm responding has been added to the product.
• Username and password in site database can now be saved, cuts down
prompts to the user.
• Site tree GUI refreshes when a new site folder is selected.
• Only allow one instance of the Program to be running at a time.
Additional Changes
• Additional tabs (e.g. site info and site plan) are not displayed if a connection
cannot be created and the user is not connected to any sites.
• Application shuts down correctly.
• Replay server playback viewing smoother
• Replay server no longer has a record button, so you can’t record recordings.
• Correct date now shown in image headers on servers with time offset.
• Searching events backwards with a date filter now operating as expected.
• Filter on cameras now maintains the selected list.
• Frame advance a single image in a multi-way view will now advance a single

Known Remaining Anomalies:


• On some PC’s it is possible that after long periods of running the screen display may
be seen to flicker.
