Sustainability, engaging discussions and activities which will motivate the student and drive them
toward positive action.

Sustainability and Climate Change Education is increasingly gaining momentum. Climate Change
Competitions, Green learning and spelling bees is advancingly becoming the norm. Nigeria and its
schools is lagging behind greatly in these areas. That is the problem we are working to tackle. In the
nearest future, the climate smart schools that provide sustainability, climate change learning and groom
smart kids will be top on the list for parents, governments, and funding bodies.
We ask that your school join the bandwagon and team of institutions that promote the learning of
climate change, making your students climate smart and qualifying your school as environmental and
climate conscious to enable you take active part in progressive nationwide and global environmental
discussions by patronizing our SACC club service.
Structure
We work with schools to set up the SACC club (Sustainability and Climate Change) where we will use our
curricular/text book to teach the junior and senior class students the essentials of environmental
sustainability and climate change on a once a week basis. Our goal is to promote environmental learning
and build climate ambassadors. We have a team of well trained teachers who work in these schools to
educate students. We are changing the way students learn by bringing in outdoor learning methods and
systems. Our curriculum is designed with loads of outdoor and inside activities which charge-up the
students and aid comprehension.
Additionally, the structure includes trainings and skills obtainment sessions on Recycling, Solar Energy
PV coupling, Wind Energy design basics, Biomass fuel for cooking, Biogas for electricity etc. Which are
incredible, rare, commercial skills that the students can use to create change in their own lives and that
of the people around them as they grow. There’ll be quarterly excursions to relevant sites with the
Activities include Live practical sessions, dramas, skits, all geared to engage the student constructively in
the subject matter of discussion and drive home the point. Examples are Adopt a tree, The Water Revue
(This is a skit to be physically played out by the students. Objective: Learn about the water cycle and the
role of people in it). Other activities include, Tree planting, Beach clean ups,
Moving forward we are working to organize an annual Green schools summit and debate competition
for our entire partner schools where the Green champion and Climate Smart school awards will be
given.
All students are encouraged to join the SACC club. This is because Environmental Sustainability and
climate is a transdisciplinary subject and encompass all aspects of life. The students will gain skills that
will help them lead change in their lives and families. Students will pay a fee which will cover for the
SACC course, textbooks, learning materials and skill obtainment trainings.

Impact
In just 8 months, we have established partnerships and currently working in three schools in FCT Abuja
and 2 schools in Lagos, where our dedicated teachers teach the students using our text books. We have
established five functioning SACC clubs. Two schools in Benue state have engaged their students and
formed clubs using our text books. Collaboratively with other organizations, we have reached more than
400 students. The result is a group of student ambassadors and smart schools who are well versed in
climate matters and are environmentally aware.
Our team can come to your school to make a detailed presentation at your convenience to explain
further on this and how we can work together.
Yours Sincerely
GO

Climate Smart Nigeria (CSN) was set up with a 10 year goal to combat environmental problems
which affect economic growth like climate change by educating the public and integrating its
learning in Nigerian institutions to curb illiteracy, to promote the intervention of renewable
energy and subsequently attain a Climate Smart Nation (with at least 70% climate aware
Nigerians) and sustainable economic development by the year 2026. Please visit;

Glory is a dynamic woman with many years’ experience working with Nigeria through education
to bring solutions to Economic Problems. Her passion for Climate Change Education started
when she realized that no Economic growth will be sustainable if the environment is not
sustainable after reading a campaign titled stop climate change before it changes you where a
human is shown with a monster-like fish head as a sign of reverse evolution that might occur if
climate change and ice-melting continue at such alarming rate. This terrified her and she
wondered why this global menace is not taught in schools.
To tackle that, she authored; The Concept and Science of Climate Change – for the general
adult public with the goal of promoting awareness of the economics of climate change and
sustainable development. A short thriller story – The Year Ran Mad – which depicts the impact
of climate change on livelihood (Agriculture) Illustrated accordingly for kids in the primary
school and a short novel – The Girl who saw tomorrow – which delves into the reality of climate
change and why it must be taken seriously. Her books has impacted Two-hundred secondary school
students and Seventy-two adults in the private sector. Fifteen university students have become Climate
Ambassadors by pledging to train others using the book. For her efforts, she received President
Obama’s Mandela Washington Fellowship Award where she met and received a honourary
handshake with President Obama.
Glory’s acquired knowledge over the years has allowed her to be an outstanding contributor in
the field of climate change, renewable energy and sustainable economic growth and
development and has earned her a consultancy status on the areas of Green Growth, Climate
Change Education, Energy and Sustainable Development for nonprofits, Companies,
Governments and SMEs. She has been opportune to speak on the above in many countries
including as Keynote alongside US Senator Chris Coons at the University of Delaware Energy
Conference. Her work has been featured in magazines and TV programs.Glory’s skills,
dedication, and passion has fetched her over 10 local and international Awards and recognition
which include the State Honour Award by Kwara State Government, Nigerian Energy
Prize from the Nigeria Energy Awards for her work in Climate Change Education and Named as
one of the foremost women in Renewable Energy in Nigeria by the Environment Africa Group.
