Result Charting & Analysis

supported in Workflow Editor
Introduction

• In Petrel 2016 and later versions, Result Charting & Analysis

(RCA) process is supported in Workflow Editor (WE)
• Under Utilities > Simulation summary plotting, there are
several new utilities facilitating RCA
• Users can now use WE to automate the process of, but not
limited to:
• Creating new study and new chart
• Customizing the chart styles, sources, primary/secondary
identifiers and properties
• Export the result charting to Excel spreadsheet
Workflow: Creating new study/chart on Field results

This example shows the workflow to automatically plot the field results (pressure, rates)
in RCA window with the following settings:
• 3x3 layout
• Layout split by property
• Series style set to Auto
• Chart theme set to “Sky”
Steps

1. Go to Workflows pane, right click (on blank space) > insert new workflow
2. Go to Utilities tab > Simulation summary plotting
3. Drop each of the items and variables (inside workflow pane) into the workflow as shown below:

4. In workflow line (1), insert the name of your new study. E.g. Field, then use a Variable as reference.
E.g. Variable A
5. In line (2), give a name of the chart e.g. Pressure and Rates. Reference it to a variable e.g. Variable
B
6. In line (3), double click on the “Results charting set chart styles” to set according to your preference
7. In line (4), drop in the source. The simulation case that has simulation finished. E.g. DEMO
Steps (3)

8. In line (5), double click on “Results charting select identifiers” and choose the identifier
9. In line (6), double click on “Results charting select identifiers” and choose the properties

• Users can possibly expand the workflow to automate the following:
• Plotting multiple sources in one chart
