COMPETITION RULE, GUIDELINES and CRITERIA

OPEN LATIN and OPEN THIRD WORLD

Categories
GUIDELINES:

1. The competition is open to all competitive DanceSport couple/enthusiasts with

at least 16 year old and above.

2. The couple will be required to submit certified photocopy of Authenticated or

Civil Registrar’s Issued Birth Certificate.

3. The discipline of the dance is Latin – American (Cha-cha-cha, Samba, Rumba,

Paso-doble and Jive).

4. The organizer will provide the official music for the competition.

5. Registration is Free.

6. The organizer is not accountable for any liabilities, claims for injury, physical
damages and losses suffered by competing couple during the rehearsal and
competition proper.

7. The decision of the adjudicators is final, and no communication will be

entertained.

8. All persons present at the championships, whether as competitors, spectators,

officials or guests shall be bound by these terms and conditions, and by their
presence automatically agree to adhere them.

COMPETITION RULES:

1. Competing couple must be at the venue at least 3 hours before the start of the
competition for final instructions.

2. Competing couple must be in proper attire with the assigned number pinned at
the back of the male partner.

3. In all rounds of Competitions the music played shall be a minimum of one (1) and
a half (1/2) or 1.5 minutes duration every discipline except for the jive which is
one (1) minute.

4. Strictly lifts are not permitted in either category. A lift is any movement during
which one member of a couple has both feet off the floor at the same time with
assistance of the other partner. The chairman of the Adjudicator may disqualify
couples who perform lifts during competition.

5. There will be three (3) rounds of competition and shall comprise at least a first
round, semi-final and final. Starting with the first round, the selection of all heats
shall be random. The semi-final must always be danced in two heats.

6. No more than six (6) couples should participate in the final.

7. All competitors must be dressed appropriately with the following dress rules:

 Ladies:

 Must follow the universal Latin Dance sport outfit.

 Color: Any Color.
 Dancing Panties: Black or same color with the dress
 Shoes: Comfortable high-heeled shoes.
 Hairstyle and Make up: Must be presentable.
 Jewelry: simple jewelry is required.

Gentlemen:

 Black trousers, black shirt/long sleeved or any cored top.

 The shirt or top has to be tucked in. No sleeveless are allowed.
 Shoes: Comfortable leather shoes (not flat shoes).
 Hairstyle: Short and clean hairstyle is preferred. No hair décor or
colored hairspray.
