NEWS FLASH!!
Whilst the temperatures have certainly
been dropping off lately the same
cannot be said for our real estate
market! QV’s latest property value
figures show the Tauranga region
continue to see steady price growth,
with the ‘average’ value now pushing
through $700,000 for the first time.
We are seeing continued enquiry
from outside of our area, particularly
Auckland where cashed up buyers
are showing high levels of interest
for good quality lifestyle blocks and
wanting to find their very own piece of
paradise in the Bay. Buyers are still very
much interested in income producing
properties which are in an ongoing low
supply level - this particularly includes
our region staples of kiwifruit, avocado
or dairy related properties.
The dairy pay-out is looking positive
which is great news for us all, with
forecast pay-outs looking to reach
levels of around $7 per kg MS, the
highest levels seen in some time!
This will undoubtedly have a positive
impact upon all our dairy farmers
and associated industries, as well as
solidifying the already strong level of
demand for these types of properties.
Fonterra chairman John Wilson said the
strong opening milk price forecast for
2018/19 would be welcome news for
the co-operative’s farmers -”What we
are seeing is a continued positive global
supply and demand picture which
gives us the confidence to increase
our current forecast farmgate milk
price into the new season. Demand is
expected to remain strong, especially
from China and for butter and
anhydrous milk fat” he said.
