OVERVIEW

The pricing function remains as one of the Pan EMEA Geo Hosted finance functions within
the HPE Next organisation. The primary objective is to support each Geo in maximizing
Revenue and Margin $ by delivering a balance profitability across the portfolio and ensuring
market/customer relevant price points.

This role is primarily focused on driving the correct pricing decisions and margin
improvement for the Geos being supported. As such the role is required to interface
regularly with business leaders, supporting the Geo HIT category team and also the Geo HIT
finance teams. This pivotal role allows a successful individual to develop the respect of
senior business and finance leaders in Geo and WW.

The individual will be required to:

o Develop deep understanding of HPE Pricing Strategy, Margin Governance


Processes and Pricing Tools
o Quickly build high level of knowledge around HPE pricing strategy leverage existing
material and through conversations with various parts of organisation.
o Relate the pricing strategy to Margin Governance processes.
o Ensure correct controls and governance processes are maintained throughout the
organisation.
o Challenge Margin Governance process with fact based analytics to ensure this
remains current and provides optimum pricing support.
o Enforce proper escalation rules & increase awareness on areas of risks & underlying
business controls

o Provide Pricing Support to Geo HIT Category, Sales Teams and Finance Teams
o Through regular contact build strong relationships with members of the Geo/Geos
being supported.
o Drive pricing decisions that balance the profitability objectives of the organization with
the competitive situation in the various markets HPE is targeting.
o Understanding on key deals and funnel progress along with overall financial
performance of product line segmentation.
o Ensure pricing escalations to management teams are presented in clear and concise
way and contain the right level of information on which decisions can quickly be
made.
o Demonstrate ability to influence leadership up to WW level and clearly represent
financial opportunities, concerns and issues.
o Proactively margin monitor performance on key accounts and drive corrective
plans/actions as appropriate.
o Partner with Geo aligned pricing business analyst to present a set of analytics and
narratives to highlight the trends on the key pricing indicators.
o Complete monthly escalation log to track volumes of deals being worked and
reasons for escalations.
o Continually develop own understanding of HPE portfolio and new product launches.

o Collaborate closely with fellow Special Pricing Managers, Business Analysts and
others in
Pricing roles.
o Be proactive in sharing knowledge and learnings with other Special Pricing Managers
o Develop strong relationship with aligned Pricing BA to ensure high level of pricing
support can be given to the Geo.
o Demonstrate willingness and flexibility to cover other Geos from a pricing perspective
to support during periods of high workload or holiday.
o Actively participate in week Special Pricing Manager team call and Extended Pricing
Staff weekly team call.
o Collaborate closely with bid desk and pricing leads and ensure they are kept
informed on Margin Governance and Geo related topics.

o Continually look to develop systems experience and knowledge


o Become an expert on existing pricing tools and dashboards to enable efficient
escalations and business relevant analytics to be provided.
o Understand and drive adoption of new tools and processes in the pricing domain.
o Use this systems experience and knowledge to drive structural simplification in any
area of responsibility (margin guidance definition, escalation process, LMC..)

o Other areas of knowledge


o Experience in pricing would be an asset
o Solid understanding of financial processes and principles
o Strong analytical skills
o Strong presentation / communication skills.
o Good business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel)
o Ability to work independently and take initiative
o Ability to meet deadlines (handle stress associated with tight deadlines)
o Excellent team player in multi country teams with very good communication skills
o Fluent in English (verbal and written)
