Petrol Engines Trainer

Petrol Engines Trainer

The success of the internal combustion engine dates from 1876, when Nikolaus August Otto was looking for a
powerful engine which had potential for further development. The engine he devised was to become the basis for
a whole raft of developments continuing until the present day. Thanks to its tremendous potential, the four-stroke
engine mobilised industry as a whole, leading to huge amounts of competition, which the development of the
internal combustion engine continues to drive till this day. The result was the most powerful types of engine in
existence. Much time has been invested, particularly with regards to air-fuel mix and ignition. The early
mechanical systems developments have now led to the directly injected high-performance engines of today with
their electronic ignition and electronic control of fuel mix.

Engines Trainer

Engines Trainer
Functional working engines come into play at a level just before working on an actual training vehicle. They allow
trainees to apply the knowledge they have gained from the training systems (UniTrain, EloTrain and CarTrain)
directly to a real engine. These engines have undergone complex preparation and provide a near-complete range
of engine functions to students. It goes without saying, however, that these engines are manufactured to the
highest standards of safety.

Decide for yourself whether you just need a fully functioning engine or even a fully set-up vehicle. All systems
are manufactured to the highest safety standards, in such a way that there is no immediate access to any
rotating parts. Any components which may get hot are also covered. All systems can be equipped with fault
simulation capabilities and signals can be measured with the help of break-out boxes. Original workshop
documentation is supplied with all systems.

All switches have three positions:
Contact 1 – system exhibits no faults
Contact 2 – break in cable
Contact 3 – junction resistance
This allows 20 different faults to be simulated

Break-out box:

186 pins
4-mm sockets

Additional control unit:

Simulates unavailable CAN signals including the following:

Airbag
ESP
Air conditioning

Additional equipment:

Cables for linking box and adapter

3 Gasoline Direct Injection (BMW, 4 Cylinder) SO3240-1P 1

The BMW N43/N13 is a modern 4-cylinder engine which made its

debut in 2007 in the BMW 1 series (E87/88). This light-metal engine
has two overhead camshafts and 16 valves. It saw the first use of
2nd generation gasoline direct injection, marketed as High Precision
Injection, which involved piezo-injectors directing a jet of fuel towards
the spark plugs, thereby allowing more accurate dosing of the fuel.
Because of the direct-injection design, the engine includes an NOx
catalytic converter and is capable of switching to stratified charge
injection mode. The whole of the exhaust assembly is included with
the engine. The training system consist ouf of a used engine with a
low mileage.

Technical details:

HPI (High Precision Injection)

Stratified charge injection
Systems for treatment of exhaust gases
OBD (on-board diagnostics)
Fittings and controls
Original cable harness
Used engine but with low mileage

4 Addon Package for Gasoline Direct Injection (BMW, 4 Cylinder) SO3240-1Q 1

The supplementary package for the BMW direct fuel injection engine
enhances the engine with the following functions:

Controller is foolproof thanks to the CAN simulation included

Built-in fault-simulation circuitry (20 faults)
Breakout box (186 pins) for making measurements on
sensors and actuators
Cover

Faults which can be activated:

In principle, the fault switches can be used to simulate breaks or

junction resistances in the following components:

Metering control valve (fuel supply)

Suction tube pressure sensor
Rail pressure sensor
Crank shaft sensor
Mass air flow meter
Ignition coil (cylinder 2)
Injector valve (cylinder 2)
Accelerator pedal module
Throttle valve adjustment
Coolant temperature sensor

5 Sun Handheld Diagnostics Unit PDL 5500 German Version LM8264 1

SUN PDL 5500 – Official successor to the world renowned

"MODIS" diagnostic tester

Customer satisfaction and the success of the earlier MODIS were

motivation enough to make the best even better. That is why all the
existing functions have been redesigned, made simpler and further
optimised. There is more functionality, a faster operating system and
a bigger 8“ colour touch screen. That means that the PDL 5500 has
not merely been restyled but completely reconceived.
The inexpensive SUN PDL 5500 multi-function equipment is an
unusual combination of tried and trusted technology with ease of
use, tailored to the everyday needs of modern vehicle repair shops.
The SUN PDL 5500 only needs 5 seconds to boot and displays fault
codes and live data within 30 seconds. A guided Fast-Track®
component test for easy location of faults is also built in. Rapid
comparison between component faults ensures certainty and clarity
in seeking out faults.
