SSD-4000 Ver. 3.0 Upgrades (optional items)

FAM (Free Angular M-mode): option (model SOP-4000-11B)
It is possible to set M-mode cursors at any position in any angle on the B-mode
image. Up to 3 cursors can be set at once.

Features
Possible both on real-time images and Cine Memory images (Not possible
on the images loaded from MO and hard disk.)
Up to 3 cursors and corresponding M-mode images can be displayed at
the same time
Possible with phased array, convex sector, and linear probes.
NOTES
Possible on grayscale (B/W) image only. Impossible on color images.
Sometimes at turning on/off of the FAM function, an irrelevant object may
be displayed at the left end of the M-mode image in a short period of time.
We consider that this is not a problem in practical use.
No preset setting is available which start up the system with the FAM
function turned on.

FlowProfile: option (model SOP-4000-13B)*

From multiple of B-mode Color Flow images, flow volume can be calculated.
This is the same function as conventional one available on SSD-5500 and others.

NOTE
When you execute the FlowProfile function on the images stored in an MO
disk or sent to DICOM server, you need to do the following setting.

PresetJ Common preset J DICOM 1 J Set Private Tag: ON J ID input

screen J Series/Image Information J Set Combined Calibration: ON

However, on a DICOM server that cannot cope with Private Tag, the
FlowProfile function is not possible. An error message is displayed or the
system stops.

* Not available on the systems for USA

Revised
SSD-4000 Ver. 3.0 Upgrades (standard specifications)

1. Measurement on VCR reconstructed image is possible (which was not possible on

the former versions)
Manual calibration is possible, making it possible to execute measurements on the
image recorded by a VCR.

NOTE
This function is not possible on the following measurements and functions:
Histogram, Flow Profile, and Doppler auto trace

Procedure:

10.0

2. It is possible to store still images in JPEG format directly into FD (floppy disk)
The item “Store on FDD(S)” is added in the menu, which enables storing still
images in JPEG format directly into FD. This function can be assigned to one of
custom switches.

3. In the former versions, multi-frame images can be stored in MO only. In Ver.

3.0, this is possible in the hard disk (built-in memory in SSD-4000). Up to
999 loops of still (please count one still image as one loop) and/or multi-frame
images can be stored. One loop is limited up to 108 images (color) or 217
images (B/W).

However, as free space of the hard disk is limited, you cannot store more
images when the hard disk is full. Therefore, it is not always possible to store
up to 999 loops of images.
Revised
4. Image browser function
4.1 Name of the buttons

Conventional Ver. 3
Film Paging Integrated into Load
Load

Film Box Changed to Layout

4.2 Coping with multi-frame image (VCM: EU-9083 is necessary)

One loop of multi-frame images can be displayed as a thumbnail and the
images can be loaded by selecting the thumbnail.
4.3 Shortening the time to display thumbnail
A thumbnail displayed once is stored to speed up the time to display it on the
second time and onward.
4.4 Display order
Conventionally the thumbnails are displayed from the older one. In Ver.3,
they are displayed from the newer one.
4.5 It is possible to preset the destination of the loading of the thumbnail image
In former versions, when the REVIEW switch is pressed, the image is loaded
in the HDD (hard disk drive). In Ver. 3.0, it is possible to select the media to
load the image between HDD and Disk.
Preset J Common 2 J Image Browser, Disk J Select HDD or Disk

5. Improvement of Color Flow noise in the near field

Color Flow noise in the near field is improved a little on UST-9123 and some other
probes.

6. Display method of Volume Mode image

It is possible to switch the display method between Plane and Sweep.
Plane: The image is updated only when the transducer in the probe reaches
the end. (This is called Ping-Pong method in-house.)
Sweep: The Volume Mode image is refreshed in real time with the movement
of the transducer. (This is called Real-time Refresh method.)

7. Doppler sweep speed

1 second/screen and 1.5 second/screen are added.
Revised
8. ID input
8.1 LMP can be entered also from the
calendar displayed on the
screen
8.2 On the “Display 4” screen, an
item (Sex) is added that
enables entry of gender at ID
input.

9. Annotation function
9.1 You can create your own dictionary.
9.2 When a word is selected, a space is put after the word.
9.3 After a comment is entered, the comment is fixed by moving the trackball.

10. Improvement of operationarity

10.1 Changing message during image storing
Changed from the dialog box to the assist message in the lower bar.

10.2 Display of cycle day (the number of days from the first day of the LMP (last
menstrual period) is added in GYN application.

10.3 Folders are automatically made in BMP, TIFF and JPEG file storage
When storing still images in BMP, TIFF and JPEG format into MO and FD disks,
folders with name of the date is automatically made.
This enables storing those image up to a maximum capacity of the disk. In
the former versions, only up to 512 images can be stored in a disk even if
there is still space in the disk.
Revised

11. DICOM related improvements

11.1 AE (application entity)
The followings can be entered:
Space, backslash, slash, colon, comma, semicolon, asterisk, question mark,
double quotation mark, <, >, and | .
11.2 Worklist
The acquired worklist is retained even after the power is turned on.

12. Measurements
12.1 OB/GYN measurement

12.1.1 Addition of 2-axis average function for follicle measurement

12.1.2 Addition of “%tile” as a measurement result (This works only when

Doubilet is selected as OB Preset FW Growth Table.)

12.1.3 Improved layout (more space between each item) of OB measurement

result display

12.1.4 Switching between Twin and Triplet is possible with a hot key
(customized function key)

12.2 Urological measurement

S/D (Systole/Diastole) ratio is added in the Renal block of Urological report.

12.3 Basic measurement

S/D ratio and D/S ratio are added in the PI (pulsatility index) Trace 1 and 2.

12.4 Expansion of Direct Printout function

In addition to OB and GYN reports, Cardio, PV, and Urology reports can be
printed out directly to HP’s Desk Jet. Ultrasound image can also be printed
out.
