FIRST AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT 
Superintendent
July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2019 

This First Amendment to Contract of Employment ("Amendment") modifies the Contract

of Employment entered into by the Governing Board of the San Gabriel Unified School District
("Board") and Dr. John Pappalardo (Superintendent) on or about June 27, 2017 (the "2017-19
Contract").

Pursuant to its action duly taken in an open session of a regular public meeting on June
27, 2017, and recorded in its official records of proceedings, the Board hereby modifies Sections
2 and 6 of the 2017-19 Contract as follows:

A. Effective July 1, 2018, Term of Employment Section 2 shall be extended to June

30, 2020.
B. Effective July 1, 2018, Compensation shall be based on Step 4 of Superintendent
Salary Schedule at $240,969 in Section 6.A. Compensation/Allowances base
salary.

Except as modified by this Amendment, the 2017-19 Contract remains in full force and
effect. Executed at San Gabriel, Los Angeles County, California.
