I am pleased to confirm that you have accepted our conditional offer of a place at the University of
Strathclyde to study for the degree of PhD in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (JACS
Code H500) on a full-time basis, starting January 2018 with a minimum duration of study of 36
months.
If you have any detailed questions about the nature of your proposed studies please write to the
Head of Department, Professor Dracos Vassalos. Your field of study will be "The Development of
Green Ship Recycling Yard in Indonesia". Your supervisor will be Dr Rafet Kurt. Your second
supervisor will be Professor Peilin Zhou.
Please note that your field of study and supervisors are subject to final approval.
Administrative Conditions
Provide a good quality copy of the page of your passport containing your photograph and passport

When all of the conditions have been met, Admissions will check that your application complies with
United Kingdom Visas and Immigration requirements.
Notes
If you start part way through the academic year, your tuition fees will be calculated according to the
month you start your course. For the next academic year you will be charged the full fees for that
session.
If you will be coming to the UK to study at any time prior to commencing your course at the
University of Strathclyde please note that you must inform us of this. Failure to do so may result in
your Visa application being refused.
Please note that if you are issued with a CAS number for this course the period covered will be the
maximum period of study normally allowed by University regulations.
Provide good quality, authenticated copies of your qualifications as stated in your application.
IELTS minimum overall band score of 6.5 (no individual test score below 5.5) Test is valid for 2
years.
Provide evidence of a full Scholarship or pay a 2,000GBP deposit, which will be deducted from your
tuition fee. The deposit will be refunded if your visa is refused or the University withdraws your offer.
Tuition fees are payable at the time of registration and are subject to change in subsequent years.
If you have to provide evidence of scholarship/sponsorship, please note that we deem a sponsor to
be an Embassy, Government Office or an educational establishment. If you have to pay the
University deposit of £2,000 (subject to increase in future years), payment methods can be found at
