INTRODUCTION
In this work I expected that by the year 2050, practically 70% of the world population will
live in cities, a number that almost doubles the current amount. This represents a
population change that has already begun in a large part of the world; and that generates
a tremendous demand for resources, such as copper and coal, iron ore among other
minerals, before these minerals and materials can be used, they must be extracted, and
that means an opportunity for the equipment manufacturer of leading mining industry
Caterpillar.
Caterpillar is expanding its geographic reach around the world to where those miners and
mines are. We want to be a very solid supplier for all your needs, whether on the ground,
in open pit excavations or underground in underground mines.
In November 2010, Caterpillar announced its intentions to acquire BUCYRUS International,
another leading supplier of mining equipment. As a result, Caterpillar is now better
positioned to offer services to its mining clients; with more products, more solutions and
more people with experience in the place, around the world.
SUBJECT INFORMATION:
During the last few years, the mining industry expanded its market of machines and
services to satisfy suppliers, this and other recent acquisitions position caterpillar for the
leadership of the mining industry and for its customers who purchase these products.
For more than 85 years, caterpillar inc. has made progress possible and driven to improve
and leaders all over the world. Caterpillar is corrently the word`s leading manufacturer of
construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines
and electric diesel locomotives.
FIRST. - "caterpillar provides a comprehensive care center". It fits very well with what
mining clients want: fewer suppliers, more strategic and larger ones that help them
succeed. It is then that caterpillar and bucyrus, combine surface mining with underground
mining and create a complete mining portfolio, offering complete packages.
SECOND. - The vision of caterpillar today was to provide a mine with all kinds of
equipment and machinery such as: drill, rope shovels, locomotives you will see all kinds of
things that make up a complete solution in a mining facility and, that is probably the part
more exciting of this.
THIRD. - bucyrus and caterpillar; Together, both now have a combined knowledge base
that is truly unequaled, and people will be a fundamental component of that transaction,
where new objectives arise, maintaining the company's general vision "Wherever there is
mining, we will be there"
CONCLUSIÓN:

 Improve the equipment in the field of mining and be leaders and unique in its
manufacture for its suppliers.
 Transmit security so that they have more clients and thus can generate more
income and more work
