#5. How do you support children who are mentally healthy?

- We should encourage them more; help them achieve full social and personal skills
development.

#6. What does behavior tell you about mental health? When children are mentally healthy what
are they doing, saying, feeling, thinking - Add your thoughts

- Good and normal behavior is equivalent to good mental health. They think clearly, they
develop good social and personal skills, and they learn at their own pace. On the other
hand, poor mental health often connotes to extreme behaviors, sighting for example is
disruptiveness and poor interpersonal relationship with other children or adults.

What if the child has mental health difficulties? (Our recent webinar discussed this issues -
Children's Behavior: What do we learn through observations.)

- Mental health difficulties affect a child’s emotions and behavior and can cause concern
for the his/her parents, carers and even teachers. In some cases, when difficulties are
persistent or severe they may be diagnosed as a ‘mental disorder’ by a mental health
professional, and can have life-changing effects to the child.
