I. Course Title : Techniques in English Instruction


Course Code : ELT 204
Credit : 3 units

II. Course Description:


This course covers approaches, methods, and techniques in English instruction.
The general principles underlying the methods and techniques will be discussed. There will
also be teaching demonstration, preparation of lesson materials, reporting, field trip, as well
as viewing and discussion of language teaching films and video tapes.

III. Course Objectives:


I. Discuss approaches, strategies, methods and techniques in teaching English language
to be more proficient facilitators of the language arts.
II. Analyze the guidelines and strategies which would provide effective language learning.
III. Acquire knowledge base in reassessing present practices in teaching communication
arts.
IV. Familiarize the varied techniques to be employed in teaching English instruction.
