Home Sweet Homebrew is operated by George Hummel and his partner, Nancy
Rigberg. George is a member of an old Philadelphia brewing family. He is an award
winning homebrewer nationally and locally. George has taught classes on beer
and brewing at Temple and Drexel Universities. He is an author of several beer
columns and is also a nationally recognized beer judge. He was the author and
cover photo for Mother Earth magazine’s Twenty Fifth Anniversary edition,
featuring homebrewing. Nancy’s background is in the Natural Foods Industry. She
is an experienced homebrewer and winemaker, president of H.O.P.S. (Homebrewers
of Philadelphia and Suburbs), beer columnist and nationally recognized beer
judge. She has also taught beer and wine classes at Drexel University. We are both
Professionals du Vin in the International Society of Chaine de Rotisseurs. We are
also recipients of the Governor’s Inspiration Award and Inductees into the
Keystone Society of Tourism. We offer our years of experience to you. When

Malt Extracts are listed by manufacturer. To assist you in brewing each style, we
will be happy to make recommendations for additional malts, grains, yeast or
other ingredients appropriate to style.
GRAIN
For the all-grain or partial grain brewer, we offer a wide selection of international malts
designed to improve and vary your brews. They may be freshly milled for your convenience.
For the extract kit brewer, the addition of small amounts of specialty grains is not
difficult and will greatly improve and personalize your beer. Lovibond is provided when

HOPS
At Home Sweet Homebrew, we believe in diversification. Consequently, we
endeavor to offer every hop variety available to us. Although many hops may have
similar alpha acids, they all impart different nuances to the finished beer. Don't be
afraid to try a new one or to mix your own personal blend! If you are unfamiliar as
to a particular hops' characteristic, just ask!
Although, of course, certain Beer Styles have their appropriate Hop types,
we believe that ultimately it's your beer.
New hop varieties will be added as they become available.
All Alpha Acid percentages provided on package when available. Supply & prices
