Figure shows the statistical analysis on data gathered from both milling machine and the
gear-cutting attachment using the chordal length parameter in order to assess the precise output in
generating the geometric profile desired as designed in this study. The mean value represents the
true impact on the output for evaluating geometric precision of both comparison on milling
machine and the gear-cutting attachment. Numerically as shown above, the milling machine
generates a chordal length of 0.5512 ± 0.002 inches which means that it generates an error for
about 0.363%(±0.002 inches is the tolerable resulted error in gear dimension) of error based on
the 7 number of trials conducted by the proponents. For the gear-cutting attachment, the chordal
length generated is equivalent to 0.5595±0.027 inches with an error of approximately 4.82%.
Although the true chordal length as calculated on Appendix is equivalent to 0.55159 inches.
