Sikacrete® AR

Sikacrete® AR
mass addition with pozzolanic component, very high water
reducer for high-very high performances concrete

General Information
Description Sikacrete AR is a mass addition with powder consistency for making cementitious
Construction

mortars and concretes with very high mechanical performances and very high values
of resistance to chemical and weather aggression. Sikacrete AR contains pozzolanic
components and specific H.R.W.R. polymers.

Areas of application „ concrete with high-very high compression resistance (more than 60 N/mm2) for
pre-casting beams, bridges, viaducts.
„ water-proofing concrete for idraulic structures like tanks, pipe-lines, floors of gal-
leries, wastepipes of dams.
„ industrial flooring with heavy loading.
„ mortars for injection of cables in pre-compressed structures, anchorages, stren-
ghtening.
„ buildings in sea coastal areas, buildings in industrial areas.
„ Concrete subject to erosion, abrasion and aggressive atmosphere.
„ In all the cases where is needed high values of resistance to chemical, weather,
carbonatation attacks.

Advantages The marked effect of H.R.W.R. polymers and of pozzolanic components gives to
cementitous conglomerates made with Sikacrete AR the following characteristics:
„ high impermeability, water resistance and chemical resistance of concrete that
gives to new structures very high values of durability
„ high mechanical resistance able to get to 80 N/mm2 compressive strenght and
more, depending on cement content and on aggregate nature of the mix.

Procedure for use
Instruction for use Sikacrete AR is usually added by a ratio of 5-10% by weight of cement (kg 5-10 of
Sikacrete AR each 100 kg of cement). Sikacrete AR is usually admixed dry into dry,
before adding water. In case of mixing by truck mixer, place into approximately 1/3
of water plus Sikacrete AR, mix for at least 3 minutes at high rotation speed, then add
all the other components of the mixture. Sikacrete AR is compatible with all Sika
admixtures especially with:
„ all Sikament range
„ aer-intruder Fro-Be for concrete subject to freeze-thaw cycle
„ Plastiment VZ for retardation during warm-weather or long distances carriage
„ SikaFume for the addition of thigh dosage of silica fume
„ SikaFibresint synthetic fibres for internal reinforcement.
The dosage must be tested before use.

Caution Very high-resistance concrete made with Sikacrete AR needs at least a dosage of
cement of 300 kg/mc.
Water/Cement ratio (W/C) must be equal or less than 0.40.
Fresh concrete must be cured during maturation time for a least 72 hours. Usually is
Construction

recommended the specific curing compound Antisol E.

Only after lab-tests is possible to get higher workability by using a product of the
family Sikament.
The sacks of Sikacrete AR must be protected by water and umidity.
