Subject : Travel Motor Improvement

1. Background
On SK460-8/SK480LC-8, there were some reports of the travel motor casing broken. This casing broken
was caused by the crack at the groove on the travel motor, in where the lock washer is installed. Against
this travel motor broken, the countermeasures were taken in two stages.
This service buletin will introduce these countermeasures.

2. Improvement Lock washer

1) First stage
In order to reduce the stress concentration on the groove,
the followings were changed.
①Corner radius of the motor groove (R2mm => R3mm).
②Chanfer of the lock washer (C2.5mm => C3.5mm).

2) Second stage
For further improvement, the followings were changed. ①Corner radius of groove
①Corner radius of the motor groove (R3mm => R4mm). R2 => R3 => R4
②Chanfer of the lock washer (C3.5mm => R3.6mm).
②Chanfer of lock washer
C2.5 => C3.5 => R3.6
