INTRODUCTION OF THE GUEST SPEAKER

Good afternoon!
I am so pleased to be with you this afternoon and to have the chance to introduce to
you our guest speaker for our very 1st Commencement Exercises of the Senior High
School Class 2018. If one takes a closer look at the alchemy of the achieving person, only
two distinct virtues pop up besides perseverance and hard work. These are pioneering
spirit and willingness. Our guest of honor and speaker today is the living idiom of a
woman who happened to be born at the right time and at the right place.
Coupled with an impressive background, it was not therefore surprising that she
became a devoted Education Program Supervisor in English at DepEd Division Office,
Tabaco City. When asked about her, who she is may not be a surprise. After all, she had
become the person she is now because of the knowledge and values she developed and
nurtured in her since she started working as an English teacher in Tabaco National High
School. Since then, she became the adviser of the school publication there. Not to
mention, she was also the Educational Management Information System (EMIS) In-
charge and a Master Teacher in TNHS.
Because of her hard work and dedication, she had a meteoric rise in her career
being promoted as the former Teacher In-Charge of Comon High School to being the
former Principal of San Miguel National High School. Despite her achievements, she had
lived a simple life ever since and is known to be undemanding despite her position and
stature in life. And with her position in the Department of Education, she doesn’t only
brings hope and enlightenment to every students, but also tries to lead everyone to be
their best in their own crafts.
Many may be said by others about our guest of honor and speaker, accounts of tales
of stories, true and untrue, but what remains to be good and true is the fact that this
woman of the hour is a woman of incomparable skills and genuine intentions to fulfil her
chosen vocation. She has a great understanding of the K-12 program and knows what it
takes for the “K-12 graduates to be ready and fully equipped in facing life’s challenges.”
Having said all these, I feel elated to introduce her to you my dear friends,
colleagues, parents and students. Please help me welcome our commencement speaker,
Dr. Jily L. Roces.
