Huawei access devices support comprehensive E2E networking protection
solutions, which protect access devices, the network side, and the access side
by rapidly switching services to the standby link in the event of a fault on the
active link. This ensures stable service running and improves access network
reliability.

3. Two Intra- or Inter-Board STM-1 Ports Can Constitute a Protection Group for the
TDM Service, Providing Board- or Port-Level Protection
Both active and standby links transmit the same data, but only the data
transmitted over the active link is received, implementing dual transmitting and
selective receiving.
The switching duration is less than 50 ms.
Two STM-1 links must connect to one SDH device in the upstream direction.

Both Ethernet link aggregation and Ethernet port protection groups can work with
ARP detection or bidirectional forwarding detection (BFD) to rapidly switch links,
meeting the 50-ms carrier-class switching requirement.
