CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

The problem is Iloilo State College of Fisheries, San

Enrique Campus is still using the old and manual way of

enrolment that takes days and weeks to finish. One of the

factors considered in studying in this study is the lack of

man power to accommodate all enrollees. The tedious task of

filling out the application form and inaccuracies of

information provided by the students also considered. These

factors cause enrolment delays, which is the advantageous

to the enrolment personnel and the enrollees. Thus, the

researches gathered data necessary in the enrolment system,

which is design to benefit the schools teachers, and the

students and especially the school administrators and

faculties as well because they can access and, manage

information directly and conveniently. Hence, we conduct

this study to improve the enrolment system at Iloilo State

college of Fisheries, San Enrique, Campus.

1. What is the satisfaction level of students in the

Enrolment System when classified according to (a) sex, (b)

age (c) full, (d) partial and (e) new (f) old and (g)

continuing?

2. What are the satisfaction levels of students that

affects the enrolment system?

3. Are there significant differences in the satisfaction

level when classified according to (a) sex, (b) age?

4. Are there significant differences in the satisfaction

level when of classified according to (a) full, (b)

partial?

5. Are there significant differences in the satisfaction

level between the factors that affect the enrolment system

when classified according to (a) new (b) old and (c)

continuing?

Hypotheses

In view of the preceding problems, the following are

hypothesized:

1. There are significant differences in the satisfaction

level of students in the enrolment system.

According to (a) sex, (b) age (c) full (d)partial and

(e)new, (f)old and(g)continuing.

2. There are no significant differences in the satisfaction

level of students in the enrolment system when as a whole

and classified according to (a) sex, (b) age (c) full (d)

partial and (e) new, (f) old and(g)continuing.

This chapter presents and discusses the literature related

to present study. It includes two parts: (1) Enrollment

system (2) Satisfaction of students.

Part one, Enrollment system, cites the different types of

enrollment system in the Iloilo State College of Fisheries-

San Enrique Campus.

Part two, satisfaction of students discusses the

satisfaction of students in the enrollment system.

According to Hossler and Bean (1990), Enrollment system is

not just an organizational concept: and a systematic set of

activities design to enable educational institutions to

exert more influence over their student’s enrollments. It

is both a process and series of the activities in the

entire campus,

sytem, Campus administration, faculty and staff to take

appropriate measures for the improvement of the enrollment

system in Iloilo State College of Fisheries.

Moreover the result of the study will contribute in

devising a strategy of the enrollment system.

Satisfaction of students is a complex construct influence

by the variety of characteristic of students and

institutions (Thomas and galambos2004).student satisfaction

is over all response not only to the learning experience of

the students (Wiers Jenssen 2002).

Satisfaction –a fulfillment of need of desire, the pleasure

obtained by such fulfillment. Satisfaction is the feeling

of displeasure or disappointment attain from comparing the

services and assessments to the students in the enrolment

system.

Iloilo State College of Fisheries San Enrique Campus

S.Y.2017-2018.

The descriptive method of research was employed in the

study. This method is the most effective method to be used

when looking for the answers to questions without

manipulating or influencing the subjects being stated

(Journoud, 1995).

Shuttle worth (2001) as cited by Bonilla (2011) explains

that this type of research focuses more on observing the

subjects and making scientific conclusions as to their

behavior in respects to the research matter at hand.
